    Don't do white as a rule although a white Rioja is passable. Something red and hefty from the Ribera Del Duero region is my favourite. Partial to a Shiraz or a malbec too.

    Had a couple of bottles of London Pride after a hard gardening sesh last weekend and they really hit the spot.

    One of my most memorable pints was Pride in a pub near Baker Street on a weekend away in London in 2011. Brilliant night out with a girl I was really falling for but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Ah memories.

    To be fair I’ve not ordered Doom in a pub in years. Used to do Doom and Darts night at the local when I was at uni. Good times indeed.

    I sometimes go to a pub run by the Farr Brewery (based in Wheathampstead) and a friend of mine asked in there recently why the beer was served rather cold. The answer was that they were meeting the demand of the (presumably younger) customers who preferred it that way.:confused:

    They also watered down Ruddles County when it was re-introduced. I remember The Horns opposite Watford Library doing a reasonable pint of Courage Director's Beer (Alan Partridge's Favourite), which if kept badly, is/was absolutely rank. Bass was usually pretty safe but gave you the most sulphury farts known to man the next day.

    Not sure lollipop ladies are used in town centres but to my certain knowledge are used outside schools a couple of hours a week .
