I have one of these from GTech:
    upload_2022-4-25_17-52-51.jpeg

It has easily replaced plastic blades and is fine for lightish strimming of grass edges and small weeds. It’s also cordless and the rechargeable unit holds charge for a good long time.

Yes, this. Works fine, except that the blades sometimes fall off.

I agree with all the comments about weddings - they're invariably miserable affairs. Oddly, I've never been to a funeral that I haven't enjoyed enormously.

That can be me sometimes. I have a rule in my head which is if I can see when there is an obvious break in traffic coming soon I won’t push the button. I won’t stop one or two cars to cross.

Virtue signalling is a pretty rank term used by illiberal people to justify selfishness, but there is another form of signalling that needs a term.

For example, when people posture that they won’t wear masks and it’s a ‘shame’ other people are fearful or go on about how much meat they eat or how little fuel economy their whopping big car gets, or they start a conversation with ‘I know I’ll be accused of not being politically correct’.

    Collective term?

Aggressive and thick drivers, seems to be plenty of them around, often tailgating or failing miserably to overtake safely.

Thanks, I've got 8 weeks from my daughter's French trip to going to Croatia to renew hers and it says to allow 10 weeks.

Most places seem to be saying 3 weeks is the average.

I've just checked and I applied online on March 31st, so that's exactly 4 weeks. I found it a very efficient service with regular updates on my application's process sent to my phone and email

Haaaaaaaa I took a bag of twiglets into work over Christmas when people were bringing food in for lunch one day.

    Universal condemnation of the flavor.

You could've then finished off their taste buds with full on Gentleman's Relish. Anything other than a thin scraping would destroy their palate.

Dry Roasted Peanuts (defunct Salt & Vinegar flavour was the best) and Twiglets are the best pub snacks ever to have with beer.

Yep, I have 3 monthly Amazon orders:

    1) Twiglets
    2) Branson pickle
    3) Mr. Porky Scratchings

My local shops just started stocking Jammy Dodgers, which my kids love. I can also get Heinz baked beans and PG Tips there. If I could just get a pint of Doom Bar somewhere, I’d be set.

But to the original point, Twiglets are the snack of the gods.

Twiglets are one of the most moreish snacks, first one is a bit meh, but the third it’s full on addiction.

What are those pub ones with a weird cheese in them, same branding as the scampi fries? Not had those for years.

    Doom Bar is *****.

Proper Job is where it’s at, Cornish beer wise.

Or, if sticking with Sharp’s, Wolf Rock.

Well I like it. They’re completely different beers anyway.

I like Tribute too but only in Cornwall, it’s no good from a bottle. Same goes for Proper Job.

Not the beer it once was. A lot have gone the same way. Old Speccled Hen used to be my favourite when it was a 5.2% Moorland ale. The 4.5% Greene King version is no comparison.

St Austell Tribute is the staple at the social club. Can be bloody awful, can be bloody lovely depending on my thirst and how long it's been sitting in the barrel.

A list of a few of my mass produced favourites:

    Adnams Broadside
    HobGoblin - King Goblin
    Greene King - Abbot Reserve
Fullers - London Pride although is variable in a bottle for some reason.

In my experience it’s always kept too cold by publicans who don’t know what they are doing. I think it’s become a bit too “popular”.

Yes, agree about the other two.
