    Well if this is true, then it proves our CEO knows nothing about club progression. Why don't we just sign the entire 99/2000 squad for next season? It's in the age-range our recruitment team like. Saying that, having Helgusson, Johnson, Chamberlain, Smith and GNW would be pretty awesome on a fan level.

    Two excellent assists from Matic in his last two games vs Arse and Chelsea. He's still miles better than the others you mentioned; unfair to lump him in with them.

    I think the OP was actually just pointing out the fact he was being let go rather than any actual rumour we were going to sign the bloke.

    It's not a fact that he is being let go - he has decided to leave:

    "Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.
    The 33-year-old has made 183 appearances for the Reds since signing from Chelsea in 2017 and is now set to depart.
    Matic announced his decision on Friday evening via his official Instagram account, where he wrote:
    “After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision. ""
