Impossible to say with Hungbo until we know exactly what is happening with JP, Cucho and Kalu, but I'm pleased with his progress in recent times, it's turning out to be a good loan
Doesn't his contract run out at the end of the season ? If so it's an irritating time for him to suddenly find his form.
Think it was renewed before he went on loan to football, but as usual with our weird club nothing is 100% clear.
The point I'm making is that you can't always predict which player will seize their chance and that everything will click. Phillips seems to have had a good season at Gillingham, that might be the peak of his ability but you never know, he might come back here and have a stronger mentality than more talented young players and be the one that makes it. Obviously I'm speculating, more in hope than anything but would be nice to have a couple of young players in the team next season.
Think he loses his place every time he's suspended, which is quite regularly. A real unit that steams into people, what's not to like?
He did lose his play sporadically due to suspension but has been generally out of the side following a managerial change.
Played the full game at the weekend and they won so hopefully he'll get another good run until the end of the season.
Yes but in the first 6 games after Neil Harris’ appointment he played just 42 minutes. Hopefully he does stay in the side and he ha a skillset/profile that would supplement the squad but playing 35% of minutes in a team in the L1 relegation zone doesn’t scream good squad option for a promotion chasing side personally.
I totally agree and in fairness I haven't seen a lot of any of them so probably a little unfair for me to judge them. Quina shows flashes of ability but not enough for me. Hungbo I thought had something about him when I saw him and glad he's having a good loan spell. Phillips is just a red card waiting to happen and just felt his abilty with the ball was lacking quality. TDB I thought started well at Reading but not sure how he's been more recently. Playing in a struggling side probably hasn't helped. I hope they come back and are good enough but I would be a little surprised
Zinckernagel playing tonight. Attacked well and had a few efforts. Also just made an excellent last ditch tackle when Sheffield U were breaking away fast .
Getting an absolute pasting from Forest fans on twitter, aside from one tackle. Looked like he was involved in a few decent link ups, but I was only half watching with game on in the background.
Did seem to go out of the game and went off. I suspect they were frustrated as Forest were petty wasteful and had to rely on an injury time goal to equalise after being on top for most of the game . They seem to think he is too slow on the ball - fit right in !
2 bookings in 4 minutes for Phillips. Third red of the season. It's funny and all that but he needs to control himself if he's going to have a career at professional level. But then again Holebas did alright for himself!
Saw the sending off, was one of those ones where he was a bit unlucky, poor touch and the guy got the other side of him and he brought him down. Definite second booking but more a result of his clumsiness than a loss of self control. Probably just doesn't have the technique and awareness to make it at a high level, is young enough to learn but will need to do it quickly. Neil Harris seemed furious with him so think that'll be him out of the side for the foreseeable even after his extended ban ends.
Big fan of Hungbo's attitude. He was a bit too raw last season but should be an asset in the Championship. A cold, wet night in Stoke is a luxury compared to Dingwall. Loan system used well and perhaps a destination for others.
I think he’s a great player. Really pleased he’s doing so well at Rosss County. He will be big asset to Watford.
Another pretty useful goal for Quina. Very nice dribble across the area and shot into the top corner .
Looked a very poor performance though, looking at the highlights on Reids' thread. Constantly gave the ball away.
Worth reflecting on how things have gone for some of the loanees that could be involved next year if we go down: Tom Dele-Bashiru seemed to have started the season in good form and was playing on the left of a front three. He's lost his place though now and can't get into a struggling Reading team. Can't see him being involved really, another loan? Domingo's Quina on the other hand looked a busted flush at Fulham but seems to be getting a run of games and excelling at Barnsley. If he keeps it up, think we'll give him another shot. Forest fans loved Zinckernagel at the start of the season and couldn't believe they'd got a player of that quality. He's still playing reasonably regularly but his output seems to have dropped off and they seem to think he's a decent enough Championship player, bit inconsistent but not quite the player they first thought. Think we would try to keep him as a squad option if we went down but he might want to leave. Mattie Pollock looks to have had a good season, is a monster in the air but lack of pace has been highlighted (probably not too much of a problem in the Championship). Seems well regarded by Cheltenham fans. Reckon he'd be in the squad. Dan Phillips again started off really well but three sendings off seems to have really stalled his progress. Contract up at the end of the season so guess he'll be released. Pontus Dahlberg, similar story, started well but high profile errors and lost his place at Doncaster. Hasn't played a lot for Gillingham after conceding 7 on his debut. Second choice keeper or another loan. Joseph Hungbo seems to have gone the other way and is getting better as the season goes on. Scoring a few (some penalties) and looks to be developing well. In the squad but not a starter. Adalberto Penaranda was playing well at Las Palmas but got injured and only just coming back. Think we might just cut our losses and give him a free transfer. Okoye is obviously going to be coming as our first choice keeper and haven't really paid much attention to what he's up to.
When I’ve looked at Quina’s highlights, he seems exactly the same player he was. The odd bit of skill, the odd great goal, but otherwise just consistently losing the ball.
