Brentford could still quite easily get dragged into the relegation battle. They're awful.

For perspective, if we beat Norwich, we're 6 points behind them with two games in hand.

I caught the last 2 minutes of the Leicester v Spurs game. Hilarious.

Soyuncu was pushed in the chest by Bergwijn in about the 93rd, went down holding his face and spent about a minute rolling around like a baby while Schmiechel questioned why it was only a yellow. And lo it came to pass that Bergwijn scored two goals in under two minutes in added time at the end of added time (the time wasted by Soyuncu) each of which agonisingly went past the man himself on their way into the net.

BT ******* off Brentford for a 3-1 loss at home against a bang average Man United team who could have scored 4 or 5 if they kept their foot on the accelerator at 3-0.

When did Brentford turn into Stoke?

Actually after their defeat tonight we now have 3 games in hand on Brentford and if we win them all, I know it's a BIG IF, but if we do we will almost certainly be above them on GD, because we are only 3 goals behind them on GD so hopefully we would make up more than those 3 goals with 3 wins.

3 games in hand is the same as 2 games in hand after the Norwich game.

And its irrelevant. We will not get 9 points from 3 games. We have 14 points from 19 games.

Indeed. If we win the 3 games after that too we will be well clear of the drop zone. Not sure what all the worry has been about.

Apparently if we win our remaining 17 games we might clinch the Conference League spot, and we’ll probably finish ahead of Brentford as well.

I called it after their first game of the season already:

"Brentford played basically like a fancy Stoke - lack quality, but tough to break down and a real threat from set-pieces. Even have a similar kit. "

    https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/the-premier-league-2021-2022.58308/page-34#post-3034693

Good to see others starting to recognise the fact, though no doubt the media will never say anything along those lines about their new PL poster boys.

I haven't seen many of their games this season but caught most of the second half last night, they spent the entire time hoofing it at Toney and playing for long throw ins

    Absolute rubbish

I said when we played them they reminded me of Burnley, which doesn’t bode well for when we play Burnley.

Please note that I said, "I KNOW IT 'S A BIG IF" Hornpete!!! Therefore don't you think that that kind of makes your post even more irrelevant than mine

Frank is an absolute whopper isn't he. If you destroy Man Utd then you beat them 4-1, not lose 3-1 you massive t!t.

Think he was just saying don’t get your hopes up but we can always think positively.

Brentford played well for 45 minutes and should have been ahead but weren’t so they got made to pay for it .

Hoping that losing his mind at the biggest club in football™ after a televised game might kickstart the shift where Premier League/big club fans stop dismissing anything any football league fan with actual experience says and realise why everyone down there hates their newest media darling, a la Muff. That took about three years, though, so perhaps I'm just guilty of delusionally wishful thinking.

Any guesses on how they will change them? I mean surely the still need to take in consideration small squads and injuries. However, I do agree that it does seem sides have been taking the mickey with this as of late. All postponements may of been genuine, nobody can really say otherwise, but it doesn't smell right.

Let's get this right: small squads and injuries have never been taken into consideration. Nor should they be.

Can you believe Jota was apparently Liverpool's second choice to Sarr? Brilliant player, he's streets ahead of Ismaila.

Brilliant little footballer but he has been coached by arguably the best in the world. Klopp could turn Sarr into a terrifying player.

As I predicted here, Arsenal are out of the League Cup as well despite a creditable draw at Anfield - their record against their fellow big teams this season has been nothing short of pathetic. Doesn't bode well for their chances of getting far in Europe next season if they qualify.

Arsenal are like Everton and spurs. A former big team. There are only 4 top teams now and even MU are struggling to keep up with the other 3.

There are only 3 teams capable of winning the league for now, but the league table shows the big 6 are still the big 6, with teams like Leicester or WH occasionally flirting with it as well.

Arsenal & Spurs are both huge clubs but both have finished out of the top 6 last season and finished 6th and 8th the season before. I think there's clear water between them and the other 4 now was the point I was making.
