I'm always a little bit surprised that people are so against Kucka. He is by no means all bad: He can tackle, he tries hard and he can pass and he reads the game well; his extensive football experience often shows for me. BUT he has two drawbacks: Lack of pace and lack of stamina. Basically he is too old. The Premier League has always been played at pace and this factor is increasing year on year in my opinion. So this is an important failing. As for Toofat: The last time I saw him play for us I reckon was one of the worst displays I'd seen in a Watford shirt for a long time (and yes I'm including our defence). He looked totally out of his depth and was just wandering around, he looked unfit and he strongly gave the impression of not being bothered. I would be very unhappy to ever see him play for us again.
It's confused me with Ranieri not replacing him against Brentford and Spurs when it was obvious that he was spent. Alone he was involved in us losing points at the death on both occasions. To me this is more on Ranieri than Kucka, even though he has the experience not to make such catastrophic errors in matches.
Sorry that genuinely wasn't meant to be a jab, it's just that I knew you'd comment that about Etebo if I didn't add that caveat. But you still did, so I shouldn't have bothered! I don't disagree, either. It is too early to be *certain* he's an upgrade, but I think he will be if maintains the same performances he's shown so far. Hopefully his injury doesn't impact him too much
Not sure anymore! Seems to be a lot more chat about Chalobah on here than about Kalu. I imagine it's partly because nobody has seen Kalu play! For my point. if Chalobah wanted to leave but nobody wanted to pay for him, getting rid on a free and then saving the wages which I imagine were fairly decent seems quite a sensible idea to me. Replacing with Tufan has clearly not worked but again who knew it wouldn't
Viera does it very well with Milojevic at Palace. Still capable but not for a full 90. That's the kind of role Kucka should have. He's not terrible but seems to run out of gas
It’s because someone had the gall to respond to the assertion ‘the club aren’t in the habit of getting rid of players for cheap’ with a photo of Chalobah, a player which the club got rid of for cheap. The COG heavies then turn up and post over and over and over until the thread appears to be a strange comparison thread between two random players with the original point and counterpoint successfully suppressed. So, you know, mission accomplished.
So you've finally broken through their cover and exposed the 'COG Heavies': A select and fanatical band, holed up in their air-conditioned underground bunker, desperately focusing their swivel eyes on their keyboards as they concoct evermore extreme measures to deflect attention from the reality that is The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of the Cult of Gino.
I think you are over complicating things. They don’t use cover, the same tactics are used over and over again and to be fair, they don’t hide. They have meetings though, via pod.
Yes, replacing him at 60 minutes makes sense to me*. Maybe, in the longer term, there will be less of a role for him as Etebo and the new feller come good. * = Cleverly?
Aha - that's what you think. Their podcasts are so poorly attended that it all counts as secret. The bunker is actually situated beneath The Pond. For sustenance an occasional duck disappears. Next time we celebrate escape from relegation by leaping into The Pond just check that everybody re-surfaces. There is a hidden airlock in the deep end. (Password 'Cliff Holton erat rectum').
I'm sure you'll be able to have a decent discussion one day like your more intelligent bwo colleagues. It's more enjoyable than sarcastic sniping, but if you're not capable then fair enough.
Yes, looks like Silva was happy to sign the player he remembered but has now realised that player no longer exists.
And in the dying minutes against Spurs. Or in not getting a 2nd yellow when chasing the game against Arsenal.
Kucka is crap. He passes the ball with the technique and urgency of someone who has just woken up from a coma.
Brentford, Spurs and Arsenal. All incidents after 89 minutes. Worrying that Ranieri can't see a trend there, Kucka can't be playing longer than 70 mins
When it comes to spamming up the forum with relentless, pedantic arguing, the mini cabal of mutual 'like clicking' BWs are in a different league to the COG Heavies. If the BWs are Man City the COG Heavies would barely make Conference League.
He can play as long as he likes, just as long as its not during the 90 minutes between 3pm and 4.45pm on a Saturday afternoon.
No, they only have the power to temporarily downgrade my poster-rating from '******* incredible' to 'insightful and brave'.
Yep. As I suggest, being knackered has deleterious effects on a player's game. Tired people make mistakes. As has been said by others, this is is arguably as much on Ranieri for not subbing him at 60 minutes.
