I reckon the nicest pie I've ever had was at a match. We played (and got spanked) by Blackburn away in a cup game, back when Shearer et al were playing for them (early 90's?). Got held up in traffic, parked somewhere ridiculous (still can't believe I wasn't clamped/towed away), got into the ground and had a meat and potato pie. I still believe this was the heaviest individual serving pie that I have ever experienced, it was bloody lovely and I was full for days afterwards. Maybe over sharing but reckon I still might be trying to shift the last of it. Never been to Wigan away but that is supposed to be THE pie ground. Maybe one day but above currently has my top spot.
The Scottish Cup tie between Inverness Thistle and Falkirk was originally due to be played on 6 January 1979 but eventually took place 47 days later after 29 postponements.
I'm hearing the game is off. More as I get it (no, I don't mean COVID, that doesn't exist in Burnley)
Play them when they have lots of other games around the same time and we get more time to prepare for must win game Friday. They’ve been **** all season, don’t think that will change
I don't get why are injuries and AFCON absentees counted when making the decision on postponement of the games. Those things happened in the past seasons as well and I don't recall games being postponed bc of that.
Have the PL always called off games for injuries and AFCON? Covid is one thing but the additional reasons piss me off. We had an injury list of about 12 players a few seasons ago didn't we? Didn't see us getting any games postponed.
'People ask me if I like football, I now say yes, I do like football......but not Burnley. Burnley can f**k off'.
Have any fans already travelled up for this game? Given it's Burnley I would have thought anyone staying overnight there would be far more likely to do it tomorrow night and that night only.
I think we’d have won this match, but Saturday, Tuesday, Friday would have been a tough schedule. This could actually be a good thing for us. Full focus on the Norwich game now. Burnley will still be sh1t whenever we play them.
Season’s absolutely gone. Chronic mismanagement from the top. Watford’s coach has spent all evening just driving round and round the roundabout at the Sandbach services on the M6 waiting for the PR department at the Premier League to send out the press release by fax. The club has cancelled all 20 rooms at the Burnley Premier Inn but it’s come too late to get a full refund so now there’ll be a lengthy dispute with the customer services team at Booking.com, which Moussa could well do without. Claudio’s trying to book an indoor five a side court at Milton Keynes sports centre for the morning but the Bletchley over-50s walking football group have got first dibs. And spare a thought for Ben! How long will his YouTube channel survive if all they’ve got is funny footage of the mis-spelled player names on the coffee cups from Starbucks?!
I thought that was the case. I was just wondering if anyone had been to the same away match twice to find it postponed when they got there both times. That would be a real sickener!
Would’ve been an absolute belter of a game as well. Two free-flowing football teams showing the rest of the league exactly how to play football the traditional way, on a beautiful Tuesday Night in Burnley. Such a shame the footballing world miss out on it tomorrow.
