Indeed. But a neutral would say we are still more likely to lose than to win each of those games. It’s just even more likely we would lose other games.

Would they? Palace yes. Burnley have 11 points and have won once all season.

Given Burnley are at home, I would think few neutrals would expect an away win. History has shown we only win at Burnley when Andre Gray is in the side.

The Benitez sacking could really unsettle Newcastle. I thank God every day that I dont know any Newcastle fans but I'd assume the majority would want to swap Howe for Rafa. Hopefully the headchoppers running Newcastle will want to stay loyal to Howe to avoid looking like the massive cnuts they are.

I don't agree at all with the first statement. There was perhaps a sense of frustration that whilst Moyes made us a consistent top 5/6 team under him, we were never able to progress further than that.

A small element of the fanbase probably felt he should have gone in 2009ish and stayed 4 years too long, but they're in a minority.

We *could* be a top 6 team if we weren't the worst run club in the country. But we are, and that means we are miles away from that.

It is what it is. We've been a shambles in one way or another for 35 years or so.

Newcastle don't need to sack Howe. He will immediately resign when they send him an invitation to a function at the Saudi embassy.

Howe replaced by Benitez. Rooney to Everton for the rest of the season. Everton go down. Howe gets his dream job in the Championship. Takes Everton back up after a couple of season. Keeps them up for 5 years, playing dirty and being very plucky.

This top headline is being portrayed and, I think, read by many as though it's some kind of bumbling admission from Benitez that he had no idea of the size of the monolithic home of football mega-club Everton and that he wasn't prepared for the pressure of such a position - Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Cup, La Liga-winning Rafa Benitez, the former coach of Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Inter Milan (among others) is, of course, a fool who knows nothing about football, after all.

In reality, what he was saying is that he was surprised at the state that he found Everton and its ownership to be in when he actually got behind the scenes - that he had far more to contend with that the usual on-pitch remit of your average head coach, and that he was perhaps not entirely appraised of the situation until that point. Which tallies with most of what we know from the outside looking in, with their loon of an owner and insanely terrible recruitment/money-spaffing record in recent years.

Fair enough - view probably blinded by one fan on a general site on use(d) who seemed to hate anything Moyes did!

They probably know what a good job he did now....

Brentford have offered Christian Eriksen a 6 month contract. Think that'll be a coup if he goes there.

Geordies have offered €30million for Duvan Zapata, no chance he goes there.

I'm very surprised Burnley haven't requested the game tomorrow be postponed. Must be considering it surely ?

I understand 14 clubs would have to agree to change the rules which probably won't happen.

Sky Sports saying another PL side have matched Newcastle's bid for Diego Carlos.

I presume it'll be a side fighting at the right end of the table.

    That would be wonderful.

Brentford all over Man U it seems.

    From BBC:

“United will be more than relieved it's goalless at the interval, thanks to goalkeeper David de Gea.

Brentford should already be back home tucked up in bed cuddling their three points”

Mr IBB is feeling decidedly umpty whenever the cameras pan to Thomas F.
I've reminded him I warned him about the chewing chappie in the summer but he thought I was talking about Ermintrude!
