Bare in mind he's probably never played in front of 30,000 people let alone 50,000 What I saw is somebody who is a natural passer of the ball who has a fark load of potential. Whatever this agent bloke has to do with him is irrelevant, he looks an absolute beast
Admittedly he'll have played away and European games so he may have played in front of 30k, but I was surprised to learn that Anderlecht's stadium only holds 22,500! That's, what, a few hundred more than us?
He did have a very good game, but I also remember that Kucka, Paredes and Zeegelar also looked like world beaters in their first games.
Plenty had **** debuts who went on to be good. Can only comment on what you see in front of you Hope the lad is as good as I hope he is, as we need him
Terrific through ball to King that led to a chance. Sat deeper than Kucka and Sissoko, but didn’t just sit. A decent start.
A little tentative to start but grew into the game. Agreed the through ball second half was perfect. But he went about his business in a very professional manner. Very promising start as were Samir and Kamara's.
Surely watching a different game? He was steady and did not much wrong and one great pass. Not that constitutes a ‘fark load of potential’ or makes him an ‘absolute beast’. He looks much better than Kucka and Tufan. I’ll take that as a starting point and let’s go from there!
Thought Samir didn’t look any better than yesterday than we have already to be honest in general - but the lack of an unforced killer mistake obviously stands him above his missing contemporaries. Kamara looked the business and the step-up in quality required. Jury is firmly out on the other 2….but it’s one game. We will know a bit more in the next weeks whether they fit the bill. But we need more obvious quality in the mould of Kamara regardless.
I thought Samir looked pretty comfortable, showed strength in the challenge, won his share of Ariel duels and wasn't bad on the ball. Certainly gives me more confidence. But yes Kamara looks the business I thought his positioning and reading of the game was excellent, comfortable when under pressure and saw some glimpses of him overlapping skills. In fairness for a game of that importance the three new boys did their jobs very professionally. Long may it last.
Would agree with this - Think Edo grew into it, covered a lot of ground, a good pass in 2nd half - more to come there I think. Samir had to do the job of 2 roles really so plenty more time for him. Kamara? Unbelievable.
Team bus section for player performance chat. Dont know why these threads arent locked a week after they sign or leave.
Nah, clutters up this secton when I want to see the new transfer news. We signed him, he is on the team bus, close this thread. This thread is probably just full of the usual suspects trying to pick a fight with somebody now.
Obvious thing to do is move the transfer thread into The Team Bus section rather than having two. Have suggested it before...
Get back to me in March. Late Feb at the earliest. Maybe April if there’s another lockdown. **** it, shout me in the summer. It’s the only way to be sure.
