Say what you like about Klopp and football, on other matters like vaccine and brexit he's been spot on.
Jezza was my fave, she had a big mouth and of course was a hometown girl. Posh I couldn't stand, Sporty was alright but had an annoying voice (not her accent, just how she spoke), Scary was alright and Baby was just a teenage boy/girls' idea of a fantasy.
I don’t know what his opinions are on other matters , but I may hasten to add that his opinions are only spot on if you agree with him.
Unfortunately I cannot see beyond a defeat. Of course I hope we pull the proverbial rabbit out of a hat. It's a free hit for Ranieri and his staff although badly hampered by losing three key players who could be the spine of the side. Sierralta-Etebo-King. It's the manner of the performance that will count. Will the players show more aggression controlled obviously, more desire and more energy than in the limp displays that saw Xisco removed as against Brighton and Leeds. If we see an immediate uptick then things will look rosy. If it's more of the same well then more doom and gloom. Claudio will be a better tactician than Xisco but surely the gameplan will involve sitting tight and hitting with tremendous pace on the counter. Pedro-Dennis-Sarr sounds good to me. RAWK is generally a decent place to have a mooch although some of the fans a small minority are insufferable. One idiot to quote after the removal of Xisco. 'What is the point of Watford FC ?'. What a self centred myopic idiot. No doubt one of the few idiots that supported the ESL I expect.
I've seen a few Wolves fans say the same thing which is a bigger facepalm. How could fans of a club like Wolves, who've had just as many if not more ups and downs in the last fifty odd years, and have also had two ex-Watford managers, be seemingly so ignorant of our history?
I mean, whisper it, and of course the state of the squad in terms of its current failings is a ridiculous thing for Gino et al to allow to happen, but at the same time, it shouldn't necessarily be the end of the absolute world if one or two important players get injured for a team, as long as they are in the hands of a capable manager/head coach. I'd say that probably goes double when the coach responsible hasn't ever worked with the side when those players were available. Adapting to that kind of situation, and coming up with a system that reflects what he has available to him overall is one of the key tenets of Ranieri's job, so whilst I lament finding ourselves in this position, I'm a lot less fearful of it now than I was four days ago.
Seeing as Pearson did all the work for Ranieri at Leicester, maybe we should just copy his tactics from a year ago for the 3-0?
I’m expecting the players to run around a lot to try and impress the tinker man, but ultimately be soundly beaten
I'm hiding behind the sofa for this one. Time to make Salah captain of your fantasy league team if you want any joy out of this game.
Brazil manager has told Liverpool there'll be no deal to allow Alisson and Fabinho to come back early in time to play against us: https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/...ble-watford-solution-for-alisson-and-fabinho/ That article's also interesting as it highlights Mane is coming back from a red list country and so Liverpool will have to decide if they want him available to play us or in the Champions League on the Tuesday. If they want him to play against us he's not likely to be allowed to leave the UK for Spain. The alternative is to fly him (and the Brazilians) straight to Spain, but then he misses the game against us too.
A weakened Liverpool side, their psychological scars still there from last year, new gaffer bounce for us, Louza amongst the goals, Nkoulou into the defence. I might have to change my prediction... Watford 0 - 3 Liverpool
King not totally ruled out of this one. Sierralta could return in three weeks but Kabasele out for longer.
Baby Spice was the only one with any form of talent but wasn’t remotely controversial enough to be big on her own. That recent documentary showed that. God knows how Victoria got onto that gravy train, zero ability in anything. Geri couldn’t sing but was a marketing dream. Fair play to the others though for keeping it going as long as they have. What made me laugh was the fact that Davina McCall auditioned for them. Can’t sing a bloody note.
If Ranieri goes with a defensive 442 the team may look like Foster Kiko Nkoulou WTE Rose Clev Siss Kucka Sema Sarr Dennis/Pedro If he sticks with 433/4231 Foster Kiko Nkoulou WTE Rose Sisso. Kucka Cleverly/Tuzan Sarr Pedro Dennis
The former looks more like a 4-3-3 unless Sema is central and we play a diamond tbf. I assume we'll start playing variations of 4-4-2 and if so, I'd like to see this (assuming all are available) Bachmann Rose Nkoulou WTE Kiko Louza/Kucka Tufan Sissoko JP/Cucho Dennis Sarr On paper, there isn't much width, but Sarr, Dennis and JP/Cucho can float around when need be. A more traditional 4-4-2 will leave us overrun in midfield far too often
FFS.....Jon Moss is the referee, and Stuart Atwell on VAR.....as if our task wasn't hard enough we've been given the worst officials you could possibly hope for. It's like a Rob Styles/Roger Milford combo from the past.
