Yep, Louza hasn't exactly made the most promising start, but he at least has promise, we've seen the best of Clev, he wasn't good enough for the Prem 2 years ago so he won't be now
The midfield when we beat Doncaster was Cleverley, Etebo and Gosling. Not sure why Xisco felt the need to change that especially as two of them scored. The guy is clueless.
They are in a small group including 90 other clubs, all referees (excluding Mike Dean) and the entire media world.
I live in nch and can explain. Most are ok and correctly see us a similar size club who have probably punched above their weight for many years. However as with lots of smaller clubs(ours included) a vocal, deluded minority think they are a big club who should be putting tinpot hoofing clubs like Watford to the sword.....hasn’t helped that we keep beating them!
If he really thinks he'll get that at a big club, he's living in the past. The job is too big, the investments too large and there are too many scouts, too much analytics to be reviewed, etc.. Just too much work to get a team ready and still keep on top of a massive global pool of players and the market for them. No large club operates like that any more. Arguably in England Ferguson and Wenger were the last. Sure, a big manager will get more input than a newer, smaller fish, but it's not 1975 any more. It's not even 2015. You need a dedicated staff, working based on a club philosophy and with a deep, detailed understanding of the financial landscape. We're seeing even clubs that basically can print their own money (Barca and Real Madrid) get wrapped around the financial axle. No billionaire is going to hand over the key to the lockbox to a bloke in a track suit anymore.
Farke’s made some sort of Delia-esque rallying cry to the Budgies for tomorrow: https://www.norfolklive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/daniel-farke-norwich-city-watford-5933407 Seems like a man on the verge of a mental breakdown with a rant like that.
"We should escalate and make sure we have the best atmosphere ever because I tell you what I totally trust these players." "Let’s create an atmosphere tomorrow that is the best that Carrow Road has ever seen." Yep, does sound somewhat similar to Delia's "A message for the best football supporters in the world" - let's hope that backfires similarly!
Cleverley was MOTM v Norwich last season and Gosling scored. I fully expect the thick ***** in charge to think this is a good reason for one or both of them to feature today.
Maybe tell him to stop falling over everytime someone breathes on him also, so infuriating, play to the ******* whistle.
I know Norwich are a much more stable club than us, but how much more boing boing-ing can Farke take? At what point does he get bored/sacked/tear his hair out at the whole business?
You have to assume he likes the constant challenge of trying to stay in the PL, but you’d also have to assume he will get bored of it eventually. The problem is as far as England is concerned he’s kind of painted himself into a corner, until such time he actually keeps Norwich up he won’t even be considered by an established PL team, so where would he go other than home/abroad?
King may have been an average PL striker between 2016 and 2018 when he averaged 1 goal in every 3 but since the he’s averaged 1 in 10, including 14 Championship games where it easier to score. Even the woeful Gray managed to get 5 last season. Though I accept confidence will also be an issue. If King comes good, and hopefully he does, I’ll be absolutely delighted. But the longer he’s on the pitch without any goals at all the more the others need to be considered. Are Fletcher or Baah the answer? I doubt it. But neither is flogging the same dead horse. I’d expect King to play both Norwich and Newcastle so we’re still discussing no goals whilst he’s on the pitch come 26Sep a change of personnel should be on the table.
Is Delia Smith still involved or just goes to games to check on the catering and as a life long fan (with her husband) ?
If we draw or lose today and fail to score ether way, I am going to really begin questioning our so-called improved attacking force. This would mark a massive FOUR games with no goals. Even Newcastle scored last night, and their strikers are about as good as ours on paper.
So basically the same as our fan base then? Edit: Just seen that you said as much yourself - sorry, didn’t spot it at first.
I agree. Initially vs Villa the Sarr Dennis combo looked exciting. We have had decent chances in the last 3 league matches, but why put Dennis on the left wing? We can have a very strong midfield, but up front we need to find a winnnt combination
They have the excitement of a promotion season every other year and usually play entertainingly in their relegation seasons. He's popular and secure, so why not stay unless he gets a really good offer?
I would not be surprised to see Xisco sacked if we lose today. A defeat would leave the team and supporters bereft of confidence in the extreme. Only the happy clappers and anorak adults will still be smiling. Enjoy the game.
Would Norwich sack Farke if they lost? - probably not. The media are are right to point out the clubs are run differently although they are a bit ignorant of how some managers have left us.
