He may not see that as a big step forward. That said he may view them as more established in the PL, and the Nigels could well pay him £100k p.w+. Not convinced he will go to Liverpool, or one of the big clubs, as he wants to play rather than be a backup
That's fair enough. But imo I don't even see it as a side ways move, could even be a step backwards considering the state Palace are in atm. What I see is Sarr staying one more season with us and hopefully kicking on so he can get his big move after the season finishes. Cant see say Liverpool because of the AFCON and them losing two of their forward line already. I'm pretty much at ease that he will be with us come the start of the season.
I think that rang true last season, but Palace are going into the season with half a squad, without a manager, with their best player handing in a transfer request and their second best player set to miss half of the season. Palace also need buy 5 or 6 players, so I can't see them spunking 40m on Sarr.
If Nuno gets the Everton job I think it's likely that he'll be targeting Wolves players like Traore/Jimenez/Neves/Neto etc, I doubt they'll be after Sarr
I could see arsenal going for him, or even someone like Leicester. I think they would both be good moves for him really.
A very good cross from the left for his assist, and a firmly-hit left foot shot for his goal. For the second half he seems to have switched to the right, where he bundled in another goal which was disallowed. Good news for Watford if he stays, bad news if scouts from other clubs were impressed.
I suspect Villa have a ton of money coming into the bank because they’ve sold Grealish to one of the big boys - Buendia is likely his replacement. No evidence for this, it just seems to make sense.
I think Villa just have a tonne of money. They spent over £100m in their first season. Another £100m last season. They have one of the richest people in the world chucking money at them.
Exactly. Having a couple of billionaires as owners helps. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...ws/aston-villa-sawiris-edens-buendia-20757603 "In April, as they secured a third successive top flight campaign, Villa released its full financial accounts to Companies House which detailed how Sawiris and Edens had pumped in £126.4m between May 2019 and May 2020."
Someone said he's going to man city didnt they? I rate him highly, but dont think he's quite good enough for them tbh.
I presume there must be a player with the same name worth 20 million Palace want? https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/foo...-“special”-£198m-rated-gem-opinion/ar-AAM2VBp Anyway even if they wanted OUR one it seems the fans don't. Thanks - we'll keep him. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/foo...vided-by-beautiful-transfer-update/ar-AAM20A1
Rich bloke throws money at a football club, seen it all before. It always starts with the arrogance ‘I’ve succeeded in business how hard can football be?’ And it always ends with ‘I wish someone had told me a football club is a bottomless pit which will swallow all my money and never turn a profit’
We were rumoured to be in for Pape Sarr. Two Sarrs are better than one. Shame we cannot get Malang in.
Good to see The Express -- that exemplar of erudite journalism -- opining that Liverpool might recruit Sarr because the club is concerned by how depleted its ranks might be by the AFCON
I'm pissed but so long as we keep Sarr we'll stay up right? Everything has suddenly become crystal clear to me.
Unfortunately at this level he's one of those players who's either unplayable or completely ineffective. More consistent, and in my opinion more talented, than someone like Traore, but if it doesn't improve he'll end up somewhere like Everton instead of Liverpool. Too many games where he's either not involved, not positive enough with the ball or not good enough with his end product.
Half the teams in the chumpionship snuffed out his threat. It's pretty obvious he'll have minimal impact this season. He's sadly nowhere near on the level of the likes of deulofeu, who truly was unplayable 1 in 4 games.
He's too reliant on his pace to be a top top winger at the moment, compared to Deulofeu who certainly wasn't slow, but was a lot trickier. As it is, as good as he's been for us, you can understand why he's not even at an Everton type club yet
He’s a £20 million winger we bought for £40 million. Still our best player and only asset of significant value mind you. We will make a loss when we sell him though.
