Looks like Grealish is set to go to City now. It will be interesting to see what knock on effect this has, if any, on other transfers now.

At least from our point of view he won't be lining up against us on the opening day.

Only problem is it means Sarr might be lining up against us. Given Liverpool keep wanting to sign him for his value 12 months earlier, Man U dont need him and Palace can't afford him, a cash rich Villa would be his most likely destination. I hope Gino isnt dumb enough to sell him for 40 but I'm sure 50 would break him. 50 is still a bargain for villa. I'm expecting him to explode this season, would be gutting to watch it happen in claret and blue.

Just saw a stat from last season that Villa averaged less 1 point per game when he wasn’t playing due to injury .

They've signed Bailey and Buendia; not sure where Sarr would fit.

They'll prob use the remainder of the money on Abraham.

Danny Ings. What a good signing that is... Hopefully only makes the bench for his debut.

Would probably be a good idea to wear cycling shorts underneath just in case

Expensive though, £25m is a lot for a injury prone, 29 year old in the final year of his contract!

Just have to hope they've not gelled and play like a load of strangers on opening day.

Think Brighton will smash it this season and finish above the likes of Leeds and West Ham.

    Bad news for @Filbert potentially.

Wesley Fofana suffering a season ending injury after being on the end of a bad tackle?

Was a shocking tackle to do in a friendly. No need to slide in and scissor tackle him. Definitely out for the season. When you watch the video, you see how badly his leg was broken. I hope he can play again looking at that break.

It was a shocker. No chance he’s fully fit before next summer. I’ve never seen such a talented young defender, Fofana is genuinely one of the top defenders in the league.

I guess this will bring our Tarkowski flirting to a head, apparently Evans is croaked too.

Yeah, I agree. As stated I never like predicting anything until the window slams shut, but right now there’s 7 teams that I would say could potentially get relegated.

Evans surely still injured from that horrendous, horrific and barbaric albeit gentle touch in the face from Massina that caused him to him roll around on the floor like he’d been shot in the face with a 12 bore shotgun .

May I interest you in another experienced Northern Irish centre back? We can also offer an equally experienced former Belgian international. Both have plenty of Premier League experience and are available at very reasonable prices.

As mad as it seems, Leicester actually tried to take Kabasele from us not too long ago.

I agree Brighton need that top quality striker to push them further up the league. No chance they will be flirting with relegation.

    Erm, based on what?

What's going to be the catalyst for them suddenly jumping about 10 places from 16th last season?!

I'm liking Sarr up against Targett. Apart from that then yeah, it's looking like a tough first game.

I don’t think they got the results their football deserved last season. I also think West Ham will suffer from europa league participation and Leeds won’t be as effective this season.

Brighton are neat and tidy, but they lacked goalscorers last season and they currently still appear to be lacking them.

I suppose their problems are a relative easy fix - in that there is only really one big problem with their squad. The rest of it is generally very good.

If they sort their striker problems - 10th seems a perfectly reasonable prediction. if they don't sort their striker problems - they will be down towards the bottom with us.

They do at least seem to have acknowledged they have a problem and are trying to bring in Nunez. Which is better than us sleepwalking to relegation for 3-4 years like we did as Deeney hobbled about up top in the hope he would turn around his form

Why get Ings and play him on the wing? Unlikely to start. Will come off the bench and score instead.
