This has genuinely wound me up. He hits that first one like a kid in PE who isn't into football but is being forced to join in. Not a bloke who is taking home ******* 70k a week from us.
Reaching new levels of dross is Andre. No club in League Two would want him. Utter garbage. Hang your head in shame Scott for signing off on this contract. A millstone with the power of a black hole dragging us back to the Chump. No room to manoeuvre at at time when the market is favourable. Horrendous times. New nicknames. Andre Mishit Gray, Andre my first touch is a yard away Gray
Best place for him and Jamaica. He will ruin their chances and the less time he plays the better chance we have fobbing off any club mad enough to want him by creating the illusion there is a footballer in there somewhere.
Was just about to post this. Yes, I'm sure Gray is totally serious about thinking he's good enough for the Premier League, and I would expect nothing less, however, I pull him up on wanting to fight for his place in the Watford squad. If he was totally serious about that, he would have ditched the Gold Cup and been part of the pre-season preparations. If you're not about then you quickly go out of the thinking of the head coach.
Thank god for that, we don't need to worry about goals anymore because Andre is now good enough for the Premier League!
Did you expect him to say "I've been a crap signing for £18m and I'm not too fussed about football"? Typical media friendly soundbite, I'm not sure why you'd expect anything else.
Why shouldn't he play for his country? Do you think if England players were in tournament action in the same time period that they would all stay at home with clubs?
No issue with him playing for his country, but is it the wisest decision if you really are fighting for your place at your club? I think not.
This may be controversial but here goes... Born and raised in England, at 30 he suddenly decides he is Jamaican? I think ALL footballers should declare their football country at 18 and be made to stick to it.
Mo Farah hold the records as fastest british runner over various long distances but was born in Somalia of Somali parents. Where do you draw the line ?
Line drawn - I think ALL footballers should declare their football country at 18 and be made to stick to it. You win some you lose some. This is a problem in all sports. There can be cases of extreme circumstances where people have serious issues with their country of origin, but this does not apply to 99.9999999999% of footballers.
A speedy international footballer with an eye for goal, Andre Gray was inexplicably dropped by Watford aftet starring in their FA Cup semi-final victory over Wolves. His dream now must be to join QPR and get them back to where they belong.
We were never going to be able to hold onto him for the entire length of his contract. "If you love someone, set them free".
The final humiliation for Gino and Scott has arrived. Watch as Gray now sees out the final year of his contract, picking up gross sums of money while he occasionally bothers to train with the U23s. Worst transfer in our history.
I get more annoyed by players like Navarro and Success. At least Gray has contributed over the years, albeit at a hugely inflated cost relative to that contribution.
If, as rumoured, we paid him £70k/week with no relegation clause for the five years he's been here, we've paid him over £18m in wages. Just let that sink in...
