That was some challenge by Pavlovic on Gray. Can't believe how much ground he had to make up. Stopped, not a certain goal because it was Gray. But jesus that boy is quick. https://twitter.com/samstreetwrites/status/1401876519056723970?s=20
I mentioned Pavlovic in the transfer suggestion thread. He is a great prospect. Gray on the other hand... In the first half he was excellent but in the second half he got outran by Stefan Mitrovic and then by Pavlovic. He looked a bit tired.
Named in the provisional Jamaica squad for the Concacaf Gold Cup, one of the multitude of international tournaments going on this summer. Also named are Mapps and a belated acceptance from Michail Antonio
Couldn't be bothered to start a thread but there's an article saying that Warnock wants him at Boro. Which would feel like a fitting punishment for him for his years of underachievement here. Can go and live the popstar lifestyle up in Smogland.
So they palm us off with Prem league failure Fletch and we give them proven prem league scorer Gray. Crown jewels etc. Fuming.
I thought we signed Fletcher as a cheap Gray alternative? Why would they, a Championship club who got rid of Fletcher, want the more expensive but no more effective alternative?
Fletcher wouldn’t sign a new deal on reduced terms, they only got rid as Warnock then didn’t want him hanging round the place. I assume Warnock may well want Gray, but on the basis that he costs no more than they offered Fletcher, which would involve us writing a large part of his contract off. If Boro can wangle that, in terms of cold hard stats they’ll have the far superior player. (Stats wise he’s significantly more effective and has been every season of his career in comparison to Fletcher, who has 19 goals in his entire career, all at championship level or below)
He underachieved last season yes so showed he wasn't the player he was and therefore should be sold. Previous to that, Deeney was always favoured so not really the case.
Yes, good point. He was everything we'd hoped for as an £18m striker and has proved excellent value for money. If anything, he's overachieved.
He's absolute gash. Unfortunately he's not in the Jamaica squad so he'll be turning up at London Colney soon. Hopefully it's just to pick up some belongings before he ****s off to the scummers.
So what? He's underachieved by any metric you care to use. I know you like to think it's a very clever argument to completely ignore what he's cost us both in terms of transfer fee and wages but even if you do forget about the gross waste of money Gray has been, he's never managed to hold down a starting place or score the amount of goals a forward in his prime should. And that's before we even think about his awful touch and awareness that actually hampers more attacks than it helps. He's had the odd moment, sure, but overall he's quite obviously underachieved and had been a very, very poor signing. It's bizarre to pretend otherwise.
I have covered this as well on this thread. Feel free to read back the unbiased truth at your leisure.
Jesus. Looked at this thread for the first time in months and see that @Manatleisure is still peddling the defence for Gray! The guy is crap. Always has been. Literal facts back that up. A couple of bright spots over a number of years don't change the fact!
Everytime I come on this forum I see more posts under this thread and have that little glimmer of hope that some mid table championship team is desperate enough to take him off our hands, will it ever happen?
Please ready my response to RS2 approximately 10 minutes ago where he said "Gash". My defense will usually be fair and unbiased. Generic responses like he's crap, he's gash, always been crap etc lack any credibility or intelligence, so I am happy on occasion to put the record straight.
If it’s a lack of intelligence or credibility you’re looking for on this thread, I suggest you start by reading through the many, many replies you’ve had on here from many, many people highlighting your lack of both characteristics on this matter. ‘Oh yeah but he scored a goal once and did something else another time’ is no longer a mitigating argument.
The euphoria on here when his contract finally ends next summer will be epic, I can't wait to share the moment with you all. Unfortunately we have to endure one more year of utter dog dirt performances but with every passing day we're one step closer to this nightmare ending.
You’re assuming Gino doesn’t extend his contract. I think it’s unlikely. But with Gino and his contract extensions, I would never rule it completely out.
It's incorrect that many, many people have all told you the same thing? I suggest you look a bit more carefully.
No, no. I’m sure that despite all of the statistical and anecdotal evidence to the contrary, manatleisure is actually an unappreciated visionary.
