Sounds about right although reporting of the fee sometimes includes bonuses as well as the guaranteed base amount.
Well from what I've read he sounds very promising. Remember people wanted Watford to pay around that figure for Grimes last season.
This guy thinks he's more of a French/Moroccan Will Hughes https://www.watfordfc.com/news/expert-view-louza-adds-class
From the article: "We had two very good French midfielders in Abdoulaye Doucouré and Étienne Capoue. How does he compare to them? “He doesn't really. He is less physical than these players. He is very, very technical. I can't even really compare him to anyone in the France national team because he isn't like [Paul] Pogba or [N'Golo] Kanté. There are not many players like him, actually. I don't want to compare him to [Andrés] Iniesta as that isn't fair, but he has those sort of technical qualities.” " -- The biggest issue with our midfield recently has been with it being too lightweight with it too easy for opponents to dribble straight through it without being dispossessed; Louza doesn't seem to change that. I still think we need a Capoue-replacement midfield destroyer, not easy to find a good one though.
Agreed it would. I was watching Thorsby for Norway yesterday, someone has mentioned him before on here. Plays at Sampadoria. He is a destroyer in the middle but he looked bang average again last night against Luxembourg. But his stats for Sampadoria are good. Breaks up play and causes a nuisance of himself but his passing is very poor and negative.
A couple of thoughts.. we were relegated with Capoue and Doucoure Since the change to 433 our midfield has been the best part of our side We need to strengthen yes, but our midfield is not in bad shape now
Agreed, we need someone more physical in there to have the right mix. Hughes often gets booked as he's not strong/quick enough to get shrug someone off the ball so has to resort to tactical shirt pulls. But I'd also say there is no point signing a player like Louza if we're just going to smash long balls up to Deeney. Hopefully this is a sign that we are looking to progress the ball along the floor and Deeney won't be starting.
Capoue and Doucoure was pretty much the only good PL-quality part of the team which got us relegated, other than Sarr and Foster. Doucoure also didn't have a great season, with his head perhaps having been turned already from rejected interest elsewhere. Our defence has been the best part of our side for this season, including after the change to 433. In our games vs Reading and Brentford, opposition players like Olise, Dasilva and Fosu found it too easy to just casually dribble through our central midfield and get shots or through-balls away with little done to stop them. That will only become more common against tougher midfielders in the Prem.
Arriving to us courtesy of Mogi Bayat, the same agent who brought us Kabasele, Kums, Lukebakio and Oulare... what could possibly go wrong?!
We sold 1 for £20mil Stayed in the Prem for 4 seasons with 1 Sold Kums for £7mil Made £30mil off loan fees for Oulare.
So the most exciting signing of the summer is in fact a dud. Meanwhile calamity ken sema and deeney are certain to start. Just ***** lol.
It looks like Okay is being brought in as an upgrade. So expecting Louza will be shipped out. Exciting times
Last I heard was he appeared in a friendly for Marseille a couple of days ago, if that helps ? Must have loaned him out like Toure....
Don't you mean Gueye? Toure was the guy we loaned to Charleroi and his clearance to play for them came through a couple of days after they'd played their final game...
Forgotten, or unknown? I’ve only just discovered this thread. Wfcforums is a bit like the dark web. If you’re a techy Luddite like me you just don’t know what’s out there or how to access it unless you’re itk. Ive missed out on competitions and all sorts..
Surprise surprise, he's decided to play for Morocco https://twitter.com/VoicesOfTheVic/status/1422839449621237761?s=19
So, as it stands, we are theoretically going to lose more than a third of our first XI, including our best player and our defensive organiser, to the AFCON? It's lucky our squad has such quality in depth at this level to compensate...
On todays performance I would have to agree with you, but lets just give him the benefit of the doubt that today was down to him not yet being up to speed with the PL, and hope that he will vastly improve.
