I was merely stating the facts on recent goalscoring form, my feelings on the future are clearly mentioned in paragraph 2.
Well your facts on goalscoring are pointless. Forward play includes much more than scoring goals even though that's the most important.
Wow! Can’t believe they only made half the dress. Won’t be buying anything from that company once I find out who made it. Guessing George by the looks of it.
It was probably a full green dress but just before the shoot Andre got it caught up between his feet, fell over and ripped it in half.
If Andre was aiming for her to be wearing an entire, full dress for the shoot, then it stands perfectly to reason that she ended up not doing so.
This man is a conundrum, he always gives 100%, and he gets into great positions, but he can't hit a barn door most of the time, so unless we really can't bring in any new strikers he really should go IMO.
Congratulations Andre on doing the minimum requirement of a footballer which is sprinting. Also, congratulations on being in the right place for the ball to cannon off you into the goal. Now pack your bags, there's a Derby shirt waiting for you.
5 goals overall, one every 254 mins, of which he got 4 in his 13 starts, for all his numerous faults, these stats aren't terrible at this level. If only he weren't on £70k a week, I'm sure we'd have little trouble getting him off the books to a Championship club in that case
The fact that Grays goals per minute are better than Pedro says it all. If you look at Pedros stats after his decent start, it’s about 4 in 27, and yet he is given a free pass e.g he was tired/ he’s young etc. Pedro needs a loan out in the Championship and we need to bring in a couple of strikers who can hit the ground running if we want to stay up. That said I have got no issue in playing some of the young players like Cucho and Pedro and take the long view that they will develop, but accept it will almost certainly mean relegation in the short-term
If you only care about goalscoring, sure. The point is surely that none of our strikers are particularly prolific so who contributes most towards the general play? And Pedro (despite quiet games and sometimes overplaying) does far more than the others. Would we have scored that critical goal at Norwich if it had been Gray, Deeney, Success or Perica in that position on the left hand side of the box? Absolutely not, none of them have both the ability to quickly move the ball out of their feet and the vision to pick out a run like that. We do need a better goalscorer but Pedro doesn't get a free pass as he can contribute even when not scoring, something that can't be said of Gray.
Excellent post. JP is already on a different level to Gray. At just 19 he will make mistakes and drift in and out of games it's a natural progression for younger players. He is learning all the time and is developing. Should he of played so many games this season? Definitely not but we didn't have anyone better. JP offers us so much flexibility up top and can even drop in at midfield. Never hid just got on with it and worked for the team. Saying that yes we need a better striker and I would like to see JP take of the left side and make it his own because he has the capabilities to create and score.
His first full season in England and yes he's only 19 so he gets forgiven for some mistakes. But making a comparison to Gray is nothing but a joke. Absolutely no comparisons. JP is already a more complete footballer than Gray and will go on to become a fantastic player for Watford. Gray has been nothing but a drain on our finances. If anybody believes that Gray needs to be here next season because of a few goals scored, well you really lack any football knowledge.
I think Pedro is overrated because he is young and Brazilian. He shows some nice touches, but doesn’t look like a striker to me. He has the right attitude and tenacity, and that is maybe enough for him to grow. I actually think Gray is a more natural striker than Pedro, but has terrible technique. I have heard it said that Pedro isn’t a striker he is better off on the wing? Can’t see it myself - he’s not particularly quick or adept at going past players. As I have said happy to be proven spectacularly wrong about Pedro, and accept that I am in a group of about 1 that feels that way.
Fair points. But as a club moving forward hopefully Gray cannot be part of it. I hope you're wrong and JP goes on to bigger and better things, maybe as you say he isn't a natural wideman but imo he's got what it takes to learn either position of left forward, central or even a number 10.
A first international goal for Andre Gray against Serbia, well done to him. Will it persuade some Championship suckers to take the plunge on him?
Credit where it's due. Didn't go down after the challenge from the keeper and slotted it it home nicely. Are you watching Ipswich Town
This is the type of player we should be signing. Perfectly judges the offside trap, beats the last defender with speed, rounds the keeper showing good technical ability and calmly slots home showing excellent composure.
Relax everyone that was our D team with one A team players in the first half and two more in the second. He did look pretty good but got outpaced in the second half in one situation by Stefan Mitrovic(cb, super slow, 31). The finish was nice and tidy and he made some excellent runs which is something I haven't seen often when he plays in a Watford shirt.
Regardless of the quality of your line up, I presume in light of Gray scoring against you Serbia has today written to the United Nations renouncing its claim to be a proud independent nation and confirming that it has in fact ceased to exist?
Hahaha. As I said he did play a lot better tbf. Regardless of the fact we played with so many reserves this result is still considered a failure here in Serbia. Hopefully we'll play better against Japan.
