Although very likely we are ported would love it to be confirmed b4 the game. I am right that depending upon other results we may already know by kick off. I guess if Bournemouth and Brentford draw

Could cause the next mutation. Some sort of Covid/Watford pond scum hybrid sweeping the globe and wiping out humanity this autumn.

They really are desperate for the club to stay at The Vic, aren’t they.

So in either of the below cases a draw is enough for promotion:

Bournemouth fail to win tonight and then either win or draw Saturday.
Bournemouth win tonight and draw Saturday.

Would say there's a fair chance this could be the case unless they get an unlikely by any standard 8 wins in a row.

I have little doubt that Saturday will be one of the best days of all our lives supporting Watford.

For us oldies it will be only the 5th time we’ve seen our club win promotion to the top division. For anybody under 45, the 4th time or maybe even fewer.

As well as the celebrating, it should also be a chance to breath again after all the stresses and anxieties of the run-in.

And the opportunity too for us to acknowledge that all the worries most of us have had at various times of this long season, myself included, were actually unfounded.

Pozzo did know what he was doing, after all.

Duxbury maybe did learn lessons from the relegation.

The squad, whose early season team sheets caused so much despair, was good enough after all.

We didn’t need Suarez and Estupinan.

And our arrival from Spain just before Christmas, depicted as Captain Clueless, a lottery winner, a kid with no tactical nous and so on and so on, turned out to be rather alright after all!

I just hope that after our most successful home season for years without us there, they let us back in once they’re allowed to next year!

I started going during the 83/84 season.

When I started going a lot more regularly as I reached my teenage years I knew nothing but disappointment, so to be at Ashton Gate and then Craven Cottage in 1998 was the first time I'd seen a promotion and subsequent champions.

This one will feel different, it would have been great to have been at the Vic this Saturday.

A whole season where I won't have seen us play, and we only go and get promoted.

    Typical.

Back to watching a relegation scrap in person come August then!

True we won’t be able to see them promoted, but hopefully very soon we will get to see the rewards of that promotion, namely PL matches again!

You were lucky you weren’t going between ‘71 and ‘77. We dreamed of mere disappointment!

Do we still need to play this game ?
    Season's over.
Already dreaming of Troy & Gray leading the line in the first match at Citeh with revenge on the mind. Lazaar pinging in the crosses (after several aborted attempts to sign a LB and Masina's "illness") and Troy rising like a phoenix above Laporte, and planting a header into the top left corner to add to his 2 penalties.
    Must win game.
WFC ? London thugs ? Who cares.

Well at least this relegation and promotion thing has made football more interesting whilst we've gone through covid, otherwise we would just have been paying meaningless PL games in empty grounds and finishing mid table empty nothingness.

    Wrexham Bolton Leeds Brighton -
4 amazing days in our history. Would love to add Millwall to that list on Saturday. #5.

The first time I saw Watford was in the 3rd Division. We had spent just 3 seasons in nearly 100 years in the 2nd tier and none in the top flight. Since that season we have only spent 2 seasons outside the top 2 divisions, spent 13 years in the top flight, 2 cup finals, Europe and those 2 incredible play off final victories. All this from a small town in Hertfordshire. It was a great club.

I feel like we really lost our way over the last 2 years with the farcical rebranding and global marketing, celebrating being hammered at Wembley like it was an achievement, badge changing, leaving gaping holes in our squads, failing to sign a goalscoring striker 6 years in a row, failing to sign a top centre back for years and a decent 2nd choice left back this season, not paying the player's bonuses, the insane rehiring of QSF, the sacking of Pearson, having Deeney above the manager in the hierarchy, offending Luther Blissett with their bull$h1t, indulging the egos of a small minority of players who thought they were bigger than the club and a terrible leadership structure that resembled a banana republic. It's been a complete sh1tsh0w and I can only assume Gino and Scott completely lost the plot.

And yet here we are, on the brink of promotion with one of the best teams this club has ever had and all because of a tackle by a player from Coventry city. I'm not sure I've ever been so proud of the players with a Moose by their hearts as the Norwich game cos half way through this season I really thought we'd blown it. To see the dedication skill talent and commitment at carrow road was awe-inspiring. As well as seeing how much it meant to this group of players who have stepped up and led the club back to the gates of the PL when Gino, Scott and Troy had failed us so miserably. These players are all heroes and if we get promoted the success is all their own. I hope Gino and Scott will be inspired by these player's honesty, talent, passion, commitment, judgement, dedication, humility and attitude to raise their own game and take the club forward next season. Those two really need to take their heads out of their asses and get back to work. Let's just hope it's as a premier league team.

If we win, I wonder if the celebrations in Watford will be a bit subdued as all the pubs are closed?

What games have the fans actually been able to attend this season?

I can only think of Brentford at home out of the top of my head and that was months ago.

London Orn...We had a crowd at home to Cardiff too, which ironically was one of only two matches we lost all season. Our very own HappyHornet24 was there!

Moosegasm..couldn’t agree more. This season has been a triumph for hard-working, honest, good professionals, blended with some exciting up and coming talent, and overseen by a vibrant Head Coach who seems to bring out the best in them.

If you were around in 3rd division days, I’m sorry you missed promotion night in ‘79 when we beat Hull 4-0 in front of 26,000. What a great occasion that was. It’s hard to appreciate now, but Div 2 was our high-water mark then and getting back there was fantastic. We never dreamed we could go any higher...

And since then, we've only been down in the lower tiers for one season, pretty impressive considering all of the bigger clubs who have spent time down there!

We're going to do filthy things to that Millwall defence. The game might have to be moved to 9.00pm.

Our home matches with crowds this season were Cardiff and Rotherham. Brentford was behind closed doors.

And we’ve had two seasons in the lower tier in our recent history, as following relegation in the Roeder/GT, KJ, LB season it then took us two years to bounce back.

Nothing would restore my faith in the Pozzos more than a win on Saturday, mathematically certain promotion followed immediatly by a corner flag on the website with news that we've mutually parted ways with Xisco.
