He was definitely in an offside position, looked like Sierralta headed it onto a Luton player and who knows what the rules are these days in that circumstance?
Bullied by a team of cloggers who wanted it more. Luton arnt a very good side by any measure but they deserved it today far more than we did. Today highlighted Xisco's limitations I thought. From the off they where getting players in behind our full backs and into the space left when the fullbacks went forward and kept leaving ourselves exposed. Our solution, as it is to seemingly everything, make a load of like for like subs and hope for the best. Lazaar had a bad game. It wasnt just the awful back pass that lead to the penalty, he had been struggling for most of the game. Likewise, yet again, Sema really didnt offer anything. Zinc was powder puff. Sarr largely absent and JP looks frustrated. Feminia is an idiot for such a needless sending off. I wouldnt agree that the players dont care but there is a tactical naivety to us, we are easily frustrated and we dont have the strength in depth we thought we had. Tiredness im sure is playing a part with some players too. Cleverly got a run out and results atleast went our way elsewhere. Improvement needed, and quickly, and hopefully this is the kick up the arse the team needed
The striker got the ball right on the edge of the penalty box - to try and take it round Bachmann he'd have ended far wide of the post and with Bachmann still having the chance of making a save. Plus the striker seemed to have less composure and techincal ability than Andre Gray, who has fluffed way easier chances than that for us. I genuinely don't think they would have scored had Bachmann stayed put.
We got the one the other day when it was an OG, so would’ve been incredibly lucky to get this one today as well whatever the rules are.
Better I would say, their games today were easier, Swans lost Ayew to injury and they need to making up more than 1 ppg to catch us As dreadful as today was, it hasn’t changed a huge amount in terms of our chances, still need to beat Millwall and not lose the last 2
I think the odds of the player scoring from there or any Luton player scoring were certainly a lot lower than allowing him to shoot directly at the goal from 12 yards.
Precisely this. I'm surprised at the general over reaction so far, although maybe I shouldn't be. We'll lose unexpectedly and win unexpectedly. Games rarely work in practise as they do on paper. Who for example thought Brentford and Swansea wouldn't beat Millwall and Wycombe respectedly? The Prem is distinctly one side after a point, whereas the Champo is a lot more level and upsets are far more commonplace.
Putting aside derby bragging rights, we got 2 points out of the Sheffield Wednesday one and only would have got 1 point out of today, so...
Probably not, but you can't blame Bachmann, he couldn't just let their player waltz through. All on Lazaar that one, the thought of him and Navarro starting against Norwich is terrifying. We won against them with Ngakia at left-back, I think I'd prefer that to Lazaar!
He is a striker. Stupid fouls given and could not find space over 90 mins against a pretty average defence. I would be committed if I played - does not make a good striker
Maybe Foster will play? Also Ngakia should play ahead of Navarro. Hopefully Masina was just a minor problem and will be back.
Did Zinckernagel pick up a knock early doors? Some neat moves from him, but overall far too lightweight, Cleverley should play against Norwich. Gibson is by far their calmest defender on the ball, with him out, Cleverley could cause them problems with his pressing
As I've said on several occasions, I don't hate Deeney. I hate what he is doing to the club. That was the second away game Troy has travelled to since he came back from injury. 180 minutes, 1 goal, 1 point. Someone with Troy's personality type has a huge impact on the dressing room. This season the more involved Troy has been, the worse our performances. It's clear for all to see. Today we regressed back to the Coventry game. We were in a great position before Troy's most recent power grab. Now we look more like play off fodder, unlikely to get promoted and losing our best players in the summer. We may never see such a talented Watford squad again in our lives. We may never return to the top flight. If Troy had left the club during pre season we would be cruising to promotion right now. It's absolutely sickening. Why is Gino such a spineless pu$$y??
As I said, I'd have been temped to take Ngakia ahead of Lazaar at left-back if the alternative at right-back weren't Navarro! Have to hope him and Masina are fit, if they are, and Cleverley is in, then we're more or less at full-strength, if not, we're in trouble
I think it's telling that JP was a lot more involved in the second half when he dropped deep, more of a #10 than a striker for me. Only problem is our other options there are rather pathetic for a promotion chasing side
Do you think teams have figured us out? Stop Sarr - we cannot do much. Zinc only has an amazing game once in a blue moon. Our strike force is as sharp as a science teacher's cardigan - and we have a decent LB who is AWOL. I still think we can go up in second - but we need to re-asses what has gone in since the break. Fatigue is not really an excuse for today considering the amount of time off the last week. Nobody was up for that today. If we cannot get up for a Derby, how are we going to fair when we go to Brentford? A game that "could" see us promoted?
So why do people criticise the manager, owner and several players if it is all Deeney's fault. I wish people would make their minds up whose fault it is that we are languishing in 2nd?
In fairness...we were flying before we played Bournemouth, put a flat performance and then bounced back superbly, hopefully this game was the big kick up the backside the team needed. I think Clev coming back could be vital too, Zinckernagel is up and down, but you know what you're going to get with Clev, he'll harry you all day long, and that could be what we need against three of the better teams in the division
It's infuriating that we still give Success any minutes at all. Pay him off, give him away, loan him to Udinese, anything, but the fact that he's still here, despite showing that he simply doesn't care enough to even try when given a game is yet another failing on our transfer policy.
Least it will be a decent pitch at Norwich . I don’t think today’s helped the mind set of some players. We seemed so scared to pass and run with the ball.
Two more years left on the contract! Five year extension in 2018 because he'd had two good games. #bestownersinfootball
Think the biggest favour done today is Norwich being promoted already. You'd think their levels will drop and they'll be celebrating over the weekend... We should be going there for a win after today.
Over 300 user on this forum despite losing? 200+ are probably scum fans reading this thread with absolute delight. Fair play to them if they are. Btw - if the Luton Outlaws website programmer is on here right now, this is how to design a football forum. Do you still use Windows 98?
