If we had just one decent CF then we could go back to 433, which would help us create a more balanced midfield.
It can be pointed out as much as it likes, it doesn't magically make it the case that any coach is legally bound to play Deeney and Gray.
Guardiola wouldn't touch a job like us with a 10 ft barge pole...or any job which isn't perfectly set up for him to sweep all before him
Well, that and we don't have one to do it anyway. It's like saying if we had Messi and Ronaldo, we'd have a few more goals.
Can someone remind me why we got rid of Ivic again? Xisco is a massive gamble from the board that isn't paying off. I don't know what they were expecting bringing in someone so inexperienced. Not his fault though that we have so many overpaid flops with huge egos who couldn't hit a barn door. The defence is the only area that can hold their heads high this season.
Hughes was the only Watford player who consistently passed to another Watford player in the 20 minutes he was allowed today. And he did a fair amount of ball-winning.
Decent player, tried his best and it’s not hard to look like our best player in amongst our lot. I just don’t think he’s as good as a lot of our fans believe. He can be. But he hasn’t been for a long while.
The ball is always a hot potato to most of our guys, passing straight at players, often at chest height or bobbling. I've said before, apart from Kiko, Sarr and Sema we have NO players that are comfortable carrying the ball, and even the so called weaker teams have midfielders that will happily scurry through our midfield with ball, a couple of one-twos and we are wide open for a shot. Until we have a confident hard nosed striker and a midfield set up to compete, not chase shadows... We are only going one way....
Luther. They made some tenuous point about the nickname "Luther Misshit" and how its similar to Grays lack of form. He has since made an angry and withering response.
There was one moment I highlighted in the Shoutbox in the second half - looked innocuous but summed it up. Hughes got the ball in about 15 yards of space just outside the centre circle in Coventry’s half - absolutely perfect chance to carry to ball 10 yards down the centre of the pitch and push Coventry’s defence into areas it don’t want to be in. Chance to probe and put them on the back foot and have a look around. He proceeded to prod the ball 5 yards sideways under no pressure to Ngakia who was the first player he saw. This is what they ALL do, to a man. Genuinely don’t think they train at all on such patterns of play and don’t encourage the players to express themselves or take responsibility on the pitch. They all just act like if they don’t have the ball, it can’t be their fault.
Earlier I posted some scathing comments made by Danny Cowley about Watford's performance today. One of the comments was that Watford were playing as individuals rather than as a team.
We’re an utter joke of a club. I’m not saying Murray is even any good himself, but the way we relentlessly push on with our failing strikers expecting a different outcome each game is utterly mind blowing.
Neither Gray or possibly the interviewer were alive when Luther was knocking them in, poor of the club to mention him in a why can't gray score goals interview!
Paul Cook called us a ‘big club’ who still carry a ‘fear factor regardless of form’... I don’t ask for much but please god, let our clueless owners see a bit of sense and hire that man.
Would be a brilliant appointment. Should have got it when Ivic and Xisco were preferred. Won’t happen. Too much sense and introspection needed.
We’ve got the best forwards in the league. I don’t think Austin would of joined us given the opportunity he’s got more sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I doubt there will be two worse teams than Coventry this season yet we made them look good. Absolute shambles at the moment, how an earth we played 4-4-2 again I don't know. I am not sure what Gray actually has to do to get dropped he is a centre forward that has scored once on 31 matches has broken the lockdown rules twice and is fan boy of our trampy rivals. I am not going to blame Xisco that would be a cheap option, the idiots above him in the directors box somehow thought it was a good idea to give him a contract, and it's not his fault that he has inherited the weakest strike force in the Championship. Watford had a chance of automatic promotion going into the transfer window and showed little ambition. If we go up tbrough the play offs no one at the club deserves it, except for the fans for putting up with this.
