Results are important but truthfully? No. I’d go so far as play a holding midfielder, stick Hughes and maybe Pedro further forward, with Perica up top in a 4-1-4-1. We can’t keep being out-possessed and out played in midfield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Munoz said there would be a massive improvement from last Monday. New shape and higher intensity. Playing further up the pitch. Players saying Monday was not good enough and we'll put it right next time. Nothing changed. Probably the worst first half of the season. Lucky point as Coventry had so many good chances but didn't take them. Bachmann doesn't command his area at all and that's his big weakness, however, his shot stopping and handling of shots directly at him is superb. Had he spilled one or two of those shots, as so many keepers do, then we'd have lost. Coventry were guilty of missing 3 or 4 big chances in top of that. I can't think of a single positive apart from we did improve once Hughes came on. Surprise, surprise. Poor tactics again. Motivation lacking again. Slow paced, plodding football again. That's now only 2 points from the last 3 games. Millwall, QPR and now Coventry. Only one goal scored which was a penalty. It's absolutely diabolical. Munoz to go yes, but this mess is on Gino 100%.
We’ve created bugger all yet again, so we have very limited strikers living off scraps at best. I had a bit of hope when the ball fell to Pedro, but my 6 year old could have saved his shot. And the other half chance was put 15 yards wide by our ‘£50 million’ player. How we are 5th is beyond me but it won’t last.
We were hearing similar intimations about Pedro in the past year. He's not ready, he's not good enough. Just turns out our managers are completely clueless in selecting the better players and where to play them. Pedro is excellent and Philip is more than a decent player. But how can they build any consistency, experience with team mates when all they get are a few minutes here and there. They are losing match sharpness and fitness. And what of Wilmot ? Playing so well, showing leadership at the back, hunger (no doubt why Swansea miss him) and he is benched. Way to go hierarchy.
Happy to claim that anything I’ve ever written here is of more insight than anything you’ve ever posted. As you were.
Credit to Coventry if they had a Charlie Austin they would of won today. Said enough how ***** we were but they stuck to their game plan worked hard when losing possession just lacked that final touch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
https://mobile.twitter.com/King_Of_Watford/status/1358065438463303681 I make a great point. Had we won against Millwall, QPR and Coventry like we should have/of, we would top today!
Go and get pissed mate, you might as well enjoy the rest of your day and when you wake up tomorrow you might think it was just a NIGHTMARE!!!
They said we worked on 3-5-2 in the week but I guess that was binned as it would have made no difference. I actually think Hughes was our brightest spark which says it all.
Yeah, Hughes looked quite good when he came on. Last 25 mins when he and JP came on were not completely horrendous at least (I'd struggle to call them 'good'), it begs the question, why not start with them?
I've always had a soft spot for Cov after they did over Spuds in the 1987 final. Losing the semi to them as a 9 year old lad, with a barman in goal, broke my heart, so seeing them lose against you lot restored my faith in life.
Completely agree. But a manager who knows is own mind and can make his own decisions. Gino not likely to agree to that.
The Red Helmet was a nightmare of an owner, but at least when here we had decent managers & players on the pitch who looked like they gave a ****. Now we haven't even got that.
I’ve said there’s bigger issues in my post have I not? So what’s the alternative? Just give up on this season - or the club altogether until they sell up? Which I strongly believe they have no intention of doing anyway. Just because the ownership has gone horrifically backwards, that should not mean this under-qualified chancer gets to continue in a job he should never have been given. Would they get the next appointment wrong as well? It’s pretty likely. But I’d rather roll the dice on that and take my chances than just watch this current situation play out for 5-6 more months. May as well do it whilst the season COULD be salvaged.
The toxic limbo party continues. Coventry should be absolutely gutted they dropped two points, we were there for the taking. Nothing to add that hasn't already been said although you could look at the comments after most our games this season and it would apply to this match. Bachman looks decent enough to be our number one, although he did flap a corner.
I Bachmann did do well, thought the same about those bobbly shots he held onto. Hughes imo would be a good holding midfielder. Walks into Capoues shoes. We dont need a tough tackling destroyer in there (or Chalobah who offers nothing on the ball) because there's not enough quality in the division. Pedro is our top scoring forward and should be starting over both Gray and Deeney.
Xisco says it was an improvement and that we are working, we have a problem and we need to 'try try try'. Dead man walking.
Who put this 'under qualified chancer' in his current position? Although he's utterly hopeless in the role, he was bought in by the current hierachy who made yet ANOTHER mistake appointing a coach. They're the ones who are accountable and the players! And no, the season isn't salvageable, too much damage done and if we did miraculously go up we'd be straight back down in the same position again. The club needs to be re-built from top to bottom this summer.
Also we have high expectations, which could be unrealistic when half of our better players from last season aren't still with us and the ones that are left no one wants!
Had we lost against Stoke, Barnsley and Huddersfield, we'd be out of the play-offs, two can play at that game
Attention BWO, I think we need to tone it down a bit. When we started this movement, we set out to unscale the eyes of our fans to the state of our team and our club. We have comfortably acheived that now, with any sane person seeing what we foretold 18-24 months ago. We have won. Now is the time to consolidate and work out what our messaging should be now that we are no longer radical outliers. Maybe we can overturn a government somewhere?
Slow paced and plodding needs to be changed by changing the players. Hughes needs to start over Chalobah. He simply plays 50% more quickly. Deeney or Cleverley. Not both. Both hard working, but not enough end product. Both largely playing the same position these days, although with different styles. Gray. No. No. No. Let him get a goal with the U23s before he gets a sniff, then only in the late stages. Zinkernagel. Did he get caught shagging Xisco's missus or something? Play the man. Get some players into the side who play fast. If they happen to run fast also, so much the better.
