He’s been really decent so far. Probably our best defender at this point. I keep waiting for that moment when it all falls apart, but he’s performed well, certainly ahead of WTE, who has been disappointing on the whole, and hasn’t looked anywhere near as commanding as I’d expected.
It would be excellent to have found a £10m player. It will be interesting to see which prem club we sell him to for £2m this summer.
In a time where any players of ours are in the shop window, maybe it's a good thing he hardly got a look in for almost the whole first half of the season? Maybe we can keep him beyond this season if/when we don't go up...
Udinese will take him back in the summer after realising their mistake. They'll send us one in return though, who is their oldest centre back?
While some players deserve slating like the imposter we have upfront that is merited because their performance has been consistently awful for a long period. We unfortunately have a tendency for instant gratification with players that have just arrived. Deeney, Doucoure being two notable examples. Players especially youngsters will adapt at different rates and that includes some of the very best. From an unsettled home life, friction inside the dressing room, poor coaching or utilization and a myriad of other factors can affect a player. The times a player has been found wanting at one club under a particular manager then sparkles at others is beyond count.
Really surprised me, I was one of the ones looking at his minutes played elsewhere and struggling to get my head around bringing him in. Seems a really solid defender and definitely our best. Certainly looks like he has a red card in him at some point and his passing can be a bit sloppy too but he is still young so can improve on that.
The only thing that hinted that he might not be a complete incompetent was his 2 recent Chile appearances.
Yea, and Chile fans seem to love him. The fact that they were constantly on the #Watfordfc twitter feed asking why the heck we weren't playing him did make me think we perhaps were underestimating him.
Definitely the shakiest we've seen from him in the league, although we were let off the hook in the end
Didn't know where else to post this so this looks the most relevant. I just had someone ask me if Sierralta comes further up the pitch to contest balls/duels. I said this isn't something I'd noticed, but upon checking the video this is something that he seems to do which is a nice little tactical insight. Not particularly useful to anyone, but just an interesting observation
The bloke loves heading a football. Hope we keep hold of him because he's only going to get better. Unless he gets worse. In that case he can go.
Yeah, I was unsure about him because of the time he has played elsewhere but then to be capped for a team like Chile he obviously had something. I didn't realise that he is only 23 years old, looks by far our best centre half, the lad is a beast. I think we have looked much more assured in the air with him in the side. Personally I would love to see him next to Kabasele regularly.
Sierralta and Kabasele away to Cardiff or some other disgusting hoofball merchants would be a delight.
If we can, it's an absolute must for us to keep and build the defence around him for the forseeable future. Preferably with Wilmot, although WTE has been fine
Happily admit to being wrong on this one. Thought he was nailed on to be either absolute turd or simply to never play for us, but he's actually very, very good and looks to have all the tools to go on to play at a higher level. A nice surprise among a sea of sh*t.
El Gaucho's special move is winning the first header, then karate kicking the ball away. He ******* loves defending deep. What a player he's been since coming into the team.
Amazingly, the best centre back we've had in years. Only 23 with plenty of time to get better and better, too.
Looks better with each game, a really good defender. Bizarre really that he's barely played any football before coming to us and didn't feature at all for Udinese.
He has certainly been one of the finds of the season so far for us, and if we do manage to get promoted back to the PL I think we actually have a nucleolus of a team to build on, of which he would be one of them.
Yeah, I really like him. Seems like he just loves getting his head on stuff, doing the ugly stuff, and think if we were capable of delivering a good set-piece, he’d end up with a few goals. Fair play on this one to the management, they’ve done well. He’s the sort of player we got promoted on last time around.
Sometimes gets too tight to his man and ends up getting turned because he's absolutely frothing to win the ball. But he said he's working in the gym and if he keeps getting the minutes on the pitch to improve then I'm sure he'll sort that out.
He’s been immense. I didn’t realise he’s only 23 which explains a lot about the question marks surrounding him. Different types of CB obviously, but John Stones is 26, only now is he really looking like he can be trusted to start every week for City.
He's a championship Virgil Van Dyke, a proper defender, always seems to win the first ball.. A very surprising success
He’s now even managed to go successive games without a booking. Giving Holebas a run for his money before that with his seven yellows.
