I shall adopt an Irene Handl to Tony Hancock voice, when Hancock is showing her his "Aphrodite at the watering hole" sculpture ; "You poor man!"

Need a win as the top 5 (including us) are scoring a lot of points and we need to keep up and hope others start dropping form (as muff have)

we could also do with a decent score line to improve our meagre goal difference

    however

    Watford 1 qpr 0.

We need to start smashing teams like these lot.

If Xisco starts Gray again, I will be demanding him out.

We can’t keep starting on the back foot.

We should demolish QPR 3/4/5-0 easily. We won’t, but we should.

Dykes is up there with Gray as one of the worst strikers in the division. Play Pedro with Deeney from the start. Bring in Wilmot for TE. Warburton is bound to defend deep so Sarr/Sema/Zinckernagel need to hold their width or make sure Kiko and Masina attack from the byeline.

I'd prefer Pedro in for Gray tomorrow, but getting the 3 points is the main aim. Like in the last home game where Gray btw did start.

You are absolutely correct . And it was a 1-0 Deeney pen if I recall . Well played Andre .

That bit was correct. I was absolutely correct. The rest shows you missed the point I was making.

The point was that if there is a scenario that Gray starts tomorrow (I hope not but lets see), that there isn't a need to demand Xisco's removal before the game because, as shown in the last game against Barnsley, the team are able to win a home game with Deeney and Gray starting up front. Getting the three points will be the priority.

It’s hard not to like Xisco. He’s just a wide eyed fellow enjoying the ride. However the decision to appoint him by Pozzo was utterly, utterly idiotic irrespective of how it plays out.

We'll see. If we get promoted Xisco will be moved on because of "contract demands" .

So if the club were to go up with him as the manager, his appointment was utterly idiotic? That doesn't seem to make much sense.

It would be results based thinking. If you bet £100 at 4/6 on heads and win it’s still a bad bet.

I don't agree. And as I am a regular studier and gambler of the horses I am comfortable in saying that a £100 horse bet at 4/6 that came in isn't a bad bet.

If Pozzo made the same bet 100 times he would lose, as would you long term if you can’t identify value on the horses.. As such his appointment has reduced our chances of promotion all things being equal. But hey if we are on the right side of variance then I’ll cheer like the next man.

Going back to what my point was which was, in a nutshell, I don't agree with the idea that his appointment is, as you put it, 'utterly, utterly, idiotic irrespective of how it plays out' because we could get promoted with him as manager. That was all.

As much as I usually disagree with Manut any odds better than evens on heads or tails is a no brainer.

We could get promoted with me as manager just handing over to Deeney for every team talk and playing Four Four fooking Two :)

Again . As much as I generally disagree. If we gain promotion it is a good appointment
We then pay him off and get someone else in

I didn't want to go into odds of coin tosses as that would involve talking about the theories of Binomial Distribution and Binomial Probability and I don't want to empty the forum lol.
So I stuck with the horses. :)

Too many variables with horse racing betting to go into. 4/6 isn't a bad winning bet in the right circumstances. That was all.

yes but if all variables considered the true odds are evens if you bet at 4/6 you are making a losing long term bet irrespective of whether you win.

Conversely if the true odds are 1/3 then 4/6 is a cracking bet even if you lose.

If you have 1 bet and it wins you do not lose regardless of whether it is 4/6 or evens.

In my betting world and most people's world of betting, a losing bet is usually never a good or cracking bet. Its natural for us, as human beings, to be disappointed with that outcome. It is rare for a person to lose a bet, and then think it was a cracking bet lol.
