I hear what you're saying but all of those strikers are 6/10 or 5/10 strikers at best (excl Sarr who I don't see as a striker). I don't see any of them banging in another 12-15 goals in next 4.5 months to get us into one of the top 2 slots. I'd love us to get a nippy young striker in from one of the top 8 prem clubs who could go on a scoring run in place of Gray in a 4-4-2 alongside Deeney maybe.

It's quantity over quality. You can only really play 1 or 2 strikers at any one time, and it's a fat lot of good if they're all crap.

Toney, Armstrong, Solanke, Moore, Joao and Pukki all have more goals from open play individually than all of our CFs combined.

Well, this wasn't something I was expecting to hear! Dunno about this, the vibes Ivic was giving off seemed he wasn't fit enough for whatever reason, so this surprises me. Haven't seen much of him of course, he can't be as bad as he's been the brief times we've seen him, but I highly doubt he's the answer

Think he would've helped his cause a bit if he didn't keep dummying balls to no-one.

Can only really see the point in keeping him if we get rid of Gray or Deeney. His wages are not going to be low (don't believe for one moment the "only paying £7.5k/week" line that was peddled by everyone's favourite ITK Twitter account as it would make absolutely no sense for Brighton at all).

He was genuinely completely and utterly useless. Though his touch was poor, the thing that stood out most was his inability to get anywhere near the ball. It simply moved too fast for him. If I could be bothered to look it up, I’m pretty confident we’d find he conceded more free-kicks than times he touched the actual ball.

So out of favour that he is allowed to be on 5live whilst we are playing!

I bet he would have scored one of Gray's numerous chances tonight, although someone may have needed to shell him up there for the breakaway chance!

Training on his own, according to Levanthal.

    What a bloody stupid signing.

Brought in presumably without conferring with the coach. Ivic did not want him neither does Xisco. This model of bringing in players that the manager has no control over or wants is prone to failure. Stuck with him all season so more money down the drain.

Don't watch Xisco's press conference today then. He was asked about signings and he pretty much said "that's nothing to do with me, I just get given the players"!

I know he looked hopeless but so have the rest of our strikers.

I find it very strange he didn't even get on the bench when we filled it out with youth teamers.

Of course it makes sense to look after our own youngsters, but realistically none of them will have an impact this season. Surely we could've tried Murray a couple more times in place of someone like Gray.

Whilst crap, he’s obviously better than the U23 striker options we’ve had on the bench at times. Something has obviously happened that means he won’t ever be considered again.

Having heard him commentate on other games this season, he seems a pretty forthright bloke - I’m guessing he’s not one to just sit happily not getting picked and has probably spoken out. Probably thinks he’s been made promises when he signed that haven’t been kept (which likely tie into Deeney and Gray not being sold). But we have obviously not put a termination clause into the deal and Brighton aren’t keen to pick up the tab of his wages when he won’t play there either.

Another Gino ‘striker recruitment’ masterclass. Best negotiator in world football wasn’t it?

That doesn't seem quite it - I'm sure Ivic would have liked having a player of Murray's style given his system; the issue is I don't think anyone at the club quite realised or anticipated the extent to which he'd fallen off a cliff as a player over the last year due to his age. Had we been signing the Murray of even two seasons ago I don't think anyone would have had any problems.

I was totally wrong about this one. I felt he would be a useful and experienced option off the bench, (and around the club) and I hold my hands up and admit those who said back in September that it was a strange/poor signing were spot on.

I think our intentions were good, but maybe we hadn’t done enough research and signed him more on reputation than on his actual form of the past twelve months.

If our resources are so scarce then good intentions are not enough. Do the research. There are enough people enjoying a great wage at our shambles of a club to do it. Best scouting network in the world isn’t it?

Seems like Troy must have been very close to leaving and we pushed the button on Murray before other interested clubs got him. Then our hero captain stayed and Murray turned out to look exactly like a 37 year old who can't run anymore.

In hindsight the deal reeks of the club panicking and shows they didn't have a clue what they were doing in the summer. Despite their reassurances that they were doing everything to get us promoted again.

He was just on 5live talking about COVID and seemed to suggest the club didn’t take it seriously and look after the players.

Presenter then had to put a disclaimer that the club weren’t there to put their case forward !

Poor from the club, we damn well should have taken it seriously considering he's in the vulnerable age group!
