Absolutely not, considering I must make half the **** up on twitter for laugh then watch it travel round and round until it becomes fact
I don't think anyone believes everything they read in the media. They only believe the bits that confirm what they already believe to be true. Confirmation bias, that's the problem.
I depends on who is posting the story. If it's from a blue tick account or someone with a lot of followers I tend to believe it has some merit. If it's from some random with 7 followers it gets dismissed instantly.
I try not to especially when I don’t want it to happen. But that story is in numerous news outlets. If we keep Sarr I think we have a great chance of going straight back up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Senegal's game against Mauritania today has been called off as 8 of the Mauritania delegation (not sure if players/staff/administrators) test positive. Whether they came into contact with the Senegalese I don't know
Apologies, there doesn't seem to be much info going around! Posted an article in the other Sarr thread, but apart from that all I can find about Senegal vs Mauritania are previous football results, country comparisons and Wiki articles about a border war!
Leventhal says he may have to quarantine, but he might not, more to follow. According to LouOrns he's being sold to L*ton for a magic bean and we're signing Tommy Smith as a replacement
Why does Sarr not take anyone on? He was drifting out wide again yesterday (understandable as that's where he's comfortable). But then he was up against 33 year old Jacobson and he didn't try to run him once. I'm not really sure what type of player he is. He's very fast but unless someone puts the ball in front of him to run onto, he doesn't really seem to take advantage of that. There have been numerous times over the last few games where he's been one on one with a defender out wide, space to run in behind and he just turns around and plays it backwards.
He has been disappointing, but the lack of an obvious outlet in the middle must be a factor in his perception of what he can do. He was a lot better at the weekend when he did have a centre forward to think about.
Still? Then he needs a good bollocking. But no, I’ve personally just never been that convinced by him. He’s quick, but is there much else?
33 appearances, 2 good games. He's still dining out on that liverpool match, but there's only crumbs left now.
Great winger, poor centre forward. He's either had to put up with Deeney as CF or no CF at all, both of which means when he bursts forward he has no options other than to go alone or turn back. Pointless signing given the way we have played since he joined. Terrible mistake in signing him and a terrible mistake of his to sign for us. What will he be worth by the end of the season ? We need Gray fit asap.
I know, I know, I know, I know.......but it's Gray, Deeney or Perica ? I think a front 3 of Pedro or Sema/Gray/Sarr is our best option.
Sadly I agree with you. It's a horrendous state of affairs. First we were all waiting for Sarr to come back. We were still shyte. Next Capoue. Still shyte. Now it's Hughes/Gray. The penny dropped for me last night: we're just shyte. Whether its the players fault or the manager I don't know. But I do know shyte when I see it, and shyte is what we are.
Noticed Cathcart told him to wake up / keep the chin up at one point last night and Ben can be heard shouting "Pedro, Isma, wake up" in his last Cycling GK video. They both look a bit lost when out of possession. A decent EFL teacher could do wonders for their confidence and integration and get them calling for the ball.
It's worth remembering that Capoue was pretty poor from the resumption last season, before he missed the last couple of games. I recall the discussions and some accused him of not trying. Others, myself included, thought he was trying but just playing badly. I think it will take every player at least six games to get their match fitness back. Confidence will come from playing well nothing else. We should remember this as and when Hughes returns,Gray too.
Pretty much all our chances this season have come from him... He is very, very good. But he's playing in a crap formation with a team playing dismal football with no functioning midfield or attacking game plan. Mentally, he is not the type of person who will take the game by the scruff of its neck but is more likely to fade into the background. That is a valid criticism of him, perhaps.... but in a better team, he would be damn good. That's why big clubs were sniffing around and will continue to do so. It's embarrassing if we fail to get promoted through misusing players of Sarr and Pedro's quality. They would stroll into any team in the league.
As a striker, he is probably worth a few million. As a winger, he is worth around £40m. The problem isn't his ability, it is how we are using him. That is down to Ivic.
We overpaid for him and then didn't want to sell him without a substantial profit. Obviously he's a good player but he's nowhere near a £40m player. His first touch is suspect, as is his decision making and passing. He also rarely takes players on and is still prone to getting levered off the ball pretty easily and then throwing his hands up in protest. Think we were linked with both him and Saint-Maximin at the same time. They both seem at a pretty similar level but we paid twice what Newcastle did.
Even Rennes have had a better time without him getting into the Champions league! He must be thinking "oh why did I come" Well apart from the extra money I guess.
To be honest I don't think we can put much blame on him, we clearly have the best player in the league yet we decide to play a formation that don't suit his attributes. He was able to beat his man every time he found himself in his more natural position on Saturday and he put some good balls into the box, he would have looked miles better if players had finished the chances and made better runs. 10 minutes in against Barnsley he beats his man to the ball plays a brilliant pass across goal Pedro can't finish from 4 yards out, later on is stood up by the wing back beats him like he is not even there good ball into the feet of Cleverley who hits it embarrassingly wide. If we had better finishing he should have 3 assists and a goal in his last 3 games.
But it's not Sarr. Capoue is the best player ever to play in the Championship according to someone on here a while back.
I believe it has been pointed out that it is unfair to the rest of the league to have retained Capoue and Sarr. Perhaps they have been asked to play really poorly in the interest of fairness ?
