I think he signed a new deal at some point (he’s got three years left) so I doubt he is one that has. If he did then I’d imagine he’d still be agitating for a move to a prem club. He’s reportedly on £45k per week, if he was on a relegation clause (they were reported to be 50% by AL) then you’d imagine it would be pretty easy to find a prem club willing to pay him more than £20k p/w. It appears just to be purely about a better lifestyle at a bigger club.
Too many of our team were washed up well before last season. Managers have soft-soaped them too long. Can't pull the wool over the fans' eyes though.
Yes! We have one 100 yards from Casa Kremlin. Very useful for the driers in the winter. Sometimes I have to take the old people's kit down there to wash and the housewives like to snigger when I get out pair after pair of XXXL white Y-fronts (often decorated with sizeable 'Barry Sheens' up the gusset) to put in the machine. Well they're hardly bloody mine, are they? So I must be doing someone a good turn then, mustn't I? So what's funny?
I like the launderette a lot. I look forward to going. Nice and warm and soapy smelling. Good for reading and watching the drier go round.
Well of course I do take the chance to wash the clothes I'm wearing, but my shorts aren't boring plain soap powder white. They're bright red, with hammer and sickle logos on each leg, the same as all commies.
Brilliant, brilliant Watford forum. The Etienne Capoue thread descends (ascends?) into a discussion about launderettes. What's the best cheese to eat while waiting for the tumble drier?
No idea, but you need to Caerphilly ensure you open the right drier when it is done or it's Nacho laundry.
https://www.watfordfc.com/news/capoue-im-now-focused-on-this-club Confirms he only wanted to go to have a taste of a new league. Also interesting states he spoke to Giraldi regarding remaining at the club - so seems he is still in place at the club and involved in first team matters.
Gee, there's a shock. Why else would Penaranda been sent out on loan for the 50th time when we were shockingly short of attacking players.
Of course, he'll half-arse it until mid-December, pick up a Docuoure December injury and return early February if he hasn't secured a move, rinse and repeat until he leaves/contract ends.
We need actions EC not half arsed performances. Put up or shut up. I'd drop him and Cleverley for tomorrow. Give Garner and NC a go.
The French midfielder toyed with the idea of leaving Vicarage Road after a demotion to the Championship that hit him hard, a move that few fans would begrudge a player of his rich quality. "Toyed" as opposed to actively sought and negotiated. I still don't blame him, he's a 32 year old Frenchman. Anyone expecting him to love some random suburbian English football club and not treat it like a job when he's in his final money making years is ******* delusional.
It does sound like he’s very comfortable staying at Watford. Let’s hope he’s not that bit TOO comfortable.
Scary places launderettes. I was in one not long ago when our washer broke and this man comes in, blind drunk, checks the tumbler drier and accuses me of stealing his best jeans. Genuine. It was quite nasty and got very heated. I can imagine some unsavoury disputes of missing clothes, queue jumping, hogging the best machines etc in these places. It was only when I told the drunkard I saw someone take out the jeans mumbling something about redistribution of wealth that he calmed down - he must have been a fellow commie.
Étienne Capoue will breeze through some games in his languid style until January when he will leave for warmer climes. We don't have a leader on the pitch to galvanise this team.
A waster, players with less raw talent will have a better career than him because they were willing to work hard to improve themselves.
Players who want to leave a club don't give 100% when forced to stay. Who knew! All those who thought the club screwed up by selling suarez and that left back please take note. See Sarr for further details.
Well, I guess we can see as it as JP and Sarr certainly look utterly miserable to be stuck here, but perhaps that's also the fault of our culture as a club. They have no affinity to Watford and have only agreed to be here for as long as it takes for someone to buy them. However, whichever way you slice it, the club screwed up. Selling Suarez, keeping Sarr, signing several players in the first place who view Watford as a temporary shop window and nothing more. We are where we are because of the actions of the owners and their policies. It's a matter of debate about which aspects would have the most impact, but the overall outcome is this squad of losers who are already booking moves in Jan if at all possible.
I don't blame the players. I've passionately supported the team for decades and I find the whole club so hateful I can't even motivate myself to watch them every week on telly. So it must be next to impossible to motivate yourself to train hard and and give 100% on match day when you are surrounded by players who simply couldn't give a shyte about the club, and in some cases got rewarded for a gutless relegation season. And imagine being led by a man who thinks you are so shyte at football that you must play ultra defensively against even the likes of Barnsley. Being utter shyte again will be a sweet release from this purgatory. At least we'll know where we stand and the hope will be gone.
