Suddenly I feel a lot better about the season. If we can keep Hughes, we have a monstrous midfield for this division.
Brilliant news. Capoue will be immense for us this year. Once Hughes gets back (which sounds very close) we're going to be in excellent shape.
Interesting that Ivic states he still wants more players to come in who play in midfield. Is there anyone left in the ‘secondary’ group now?
Indeed. Fair play to Roy Moore on this one. Did look shifty when he deleted the tweet but I guess someone had a word.
Very good news. Now get a winger, a striker and a left back, stop this 3-5-2 crap, get Hughes and Capoue playing next to eachother in a 4-3-3 with Sarr out wide, and I might take a few minutes off from moaning.
Interesting nobody slagging him off for wanting to leave. Shows he is probably one of our most respected players. Edit - Don't know if I spoke too soon as RC is censored.
The club on the website went out of there way to explain/interpret that as referring to Hughes but Ivic's quote seems to suggest something else: "This will give us one more option in this position where we’re also looking for some other guys to come in and help us,” said Ivi*, with Will Hughes stepping up his own return towards full training.
Some credit to the club for seemingly not shifting on their valuation of Capoue, despite a transfer request. Also fair play to Capoue for taking that on the chin and integrating himself back in the squad.
It really is; Vlad's doing a bang up job of breaking any semblance of player power. You toe the line or you're out, regardless of how good you are. You want back in? Great....as long as you toe the line.
I can only assume Vlad has psychologically broken Capoue. Left him crying in the corner of the changing rooms before picking him up, gently stroking his face and saying "Etienne, its ok. You are forgiven, you are one of us now. Come back to the group and be the guy who wins us promotion".
People are going to say "like a new signing". But it actually is. Adds everything we need. Power, tackling, passing, height, energy, experience and quality. Given that Ivic historically uses the DMC as the fulcrum for play, he's now got the best one in the division.
It's almost like people are acting like professionals. Not seen this at Watford in years. Edit: Great ******* song too
Capoue’s last two appearances for us both resulted in wins. He then got injured and missed the horror show at West Ham and the losses to Man City and Arsenal. I think he was a big miss, especially at the London Stadium.
Capoue is our best player, the best player in the Championship and probably the best player to ever grace the Championship. He found the Prem easy when he could be bothered, can't wait to see him back out there.
Really? I can think of at least two Watford players alone - Abdi and Nielsen - who might warrant that evaluation, let alone players for other clubs.
And he has repaid the money he has "stolen" from us for the last 2 months. Well done EC you are a credit to professionals everywhere. Oh wait.......
So. GK - Foster, Bachmann, Parkes CB - Cathcart, Kabasele, Troost-Ekong, Wilmot, Sierralta, Dawson (Likely sold) RB - Ngakia, Navarro, Femenia, Janmaat (Does he exist?) LB - Masina (Back November) CM - Capoue, Hughes, Cleverley, Chalobah, Garner, Quina, Dele-Bashiru (Back end of Season near enough), Phillips RW - Sarr LW - Pedro, Sema ST - Gray, Perica, Murray, Deeney (Likely to be sold), Success (Who?) We need another LB, RW and ST then we're in business. CM if a no brainer deal comes up won't hurt but isn't priority.
