Juan Camilo Becerra scored the first for UE Cornella in their promotion play-off 2-1 win against Ibiza (who had Kwasi Sibo as an unused sub) yesterday. If Cornelia do get promoted to Segunda Division their local derby against RCD Espanyol will be VERY local. 15 meters separate the two grounds.
Looks like they have a much better stadium as well which would seem a bit surprising Edit - think I may have confused the two teams
Pervis, Suarez and Cucho have been getting all the attention, but could any of our other many random loanees be of use in the Championship? Mattheus Aias seems to have done alright as a CF in La Liga 2 when given the chance. Jose Segura, a 23 year-old Colombian CB still exists, though may end up back in Colombia permanently? Anyone else might be worth considering?
Juan Camilo Becerra has had a decent second half of the season in the Segunda B, with six goals in twelve starts. Some warm comments from the fans on his Twitter saying that he's ready for a step up. 22 year old Colombian centre forward nicknamed The Tank as he's a bit of a bulldozer. Looks a bit like Diego Costa. Would clearly be a massive step up for him but maybe we might be more inclined to gamble in a lower league. Seems like Filip Stuparevic has fallen off a bit of a cliff. Had an unsuccessful loan then went back to his first club on loan but didn't score any goals so wouldn't expect to see him.
Jaime Alvarado has signed on loan for a season with Brazilian Serie A side Paranaense so he's one that won't be coming joining up with us.
Lots of reports in Spain about possible moves for Cucho, Suarez and Estupiñan. Funnily enough none of them want to come and play in the Championship. This is one of the most frustrating things about relegation. For years we've been fed the myth about the Pozzo way of unearthing gems for little or no money. The first time there's a trio of young players that could potentially improve our squad, we've been relegated so are unlikely to be able to call on them.
Isn't the Championship by far the biggest and most supported second tier league in the world? If these players are under contract and they are in the club's plans for immediate promotion and if there are as good as some say they are, they will have a field day in this division.
Yes....this is my take on it too. Had we stayed up, we'd have been able to sort ourselves out. Todibo was being actively chased and we'd have been able to use those loan players. Now it's all gone to pot. Incredibly frustrating. However, we don't need to sell everyone. If they don't want to help the team in the Championship, we can loan them and hope we go up next season. I hope this is the way the club will go, as it's really hard to sign top quality players, even when you are in the Premier League, let alone the Championship.
The big news was yesterdays announcement of Matheus Santana signing for Real Club Recreativo de Huelva on loan. I can't believe nobody mentioned it. A whole season too. Exciting.
Another transfer has gone under the radar. Huge news which will help fill the coffers and lessen the need to sell one of our big earners. Juergen Elitim has joined Sociedad Deportivo Ponferradina SAD for the season. Obviously they play in Segunda Division. It's just a conveyor belt of talent we have out there. Maybe not conveyor belt. More like a Stannah Stairlift really.
You jest here, but Suarez also played in Segunda Division B at the age of 20, before moving to play for a Segunda Division side from the age of 21. If Elitim can do as well as Suarez did then it'd be nothing to be sniffed at.
Kwasi Sibo will be with Ibiza again next season. I, meanwhile, will not even be in Ibiza next week as planned.
Can someone (I mean you probably @The Recluse ) list all the loan players from last season and show which ones have gone out on loan again with club and league shown? Thanks in advance!
It's not something I keep a record of @Steve Leo Beleck, but I'll give it a go. Bugger. I'm over the 15min edit time now so I'll Tippex my screen and write it in Biro so nobody sees it - cheers @The undeniable truth. I went through it over and over looking for mistakes and made such an obvious one I missed it altogether! But yes, Accrington Stanley not Crewe Alex.
Sorry, it's an excellent summary and loads of us really appreciate you pulling these summaries together and giving insights into players we've never heard of and will probably never see !
It's all good. However I wrote my reply it sounded like I was having a go at you for pointing out my mistake. That was never how I wanted it to come across so no apologies needed on your part. Sorry for coming across like that.
Ha ha no I didn't take it like that for a moment. I just meant I was sorry for finding an error in your masterpiece just after the edit window had closed !
It looks like Kingsley Fobi has moved on to pastures not so new with a return to the set up at Granada. https://www.granadacf.es/noticia/el-lateral-fobi-kingsley-se-incorpora-al-club-recreativo-granada We can surely keep Doucoure, Welbeck and Deulofeu now with the fee received and money saved in wages.
Encouraging to see Ryan Cassidy has scored 2 in 2 for Accrington so far. Yesterday he netted in Stanleys 3-4 reverse against Southport.
Weird that this is saying we reached an agreement, so one would assume a fee was involved. Transfermarkt has it listed as a free transfer.
Not necessarily. The agreement may be we waived any immediate fee for X amount after, say, 5, 10, 20 & 50 games plus a ridiculous sell-on fee and it's still technically a free transfer.
Juan Camilo Becerra rumoured to be joining RCD Espanyol B in Segunda Division B. This is the same level he was playing at last season with UE Cornella. https://twitter.com/deharojavier61/status/1296542114617135104?s=20
Hoban played the full 90 for Aberdeen’s win tonight. I know he’s not on loan but still feel like he’s one of ours. Just looked. According to whoscored he was the 2nd best player on the pitch. Could have easily won motm by the sounds of it as well.
Matheus Aias has spent a couple of seasons with CD Mirandes looks like he's leaving on a free transfer to Orlando City SC. https://twitter.com/miranda_deporte/status/1296505106398052359?s=20
Unless we've signed a new batch of South Americans this summer that should be the last of the players who should, in all honesty, never be spoken of.
Matheus Aias isn’t bad, actually. Didn’t play that much in La Liga 2 last season which was really strange as he scored 6 goals (most against La Liga opposition) in the Copa Del Ray as his side Mirandes reached the semi finals. A goal every 115 mins. Looked a handful and young. Don’t know if he has a Spanish passport or is work permit eligible etc but I reckon he’d be a pretty good option as a rotation option up front. Definitely not in the same league as Suarez and Estupiñan but better than many of our random loanees. Don’t know about his contract situation (neither does Transfermarkt) but unless his contract has expired, surely we could do better than letting him go for free.
