At last! His stock must have fallen dramatically this season. Enough to see him play in the Championship next year? Those Pozzos are genius.
Goal from 30 seconds: Decent header saved by the keeper then does well to follow-up on the rebound. It appears he played on the right of a front 3 in this match.
He's having a great game, was instrumental in their second goal as well. Ball was played down the wing a Cucho galloped after it, took the ball into the area and cut inside before back heeling it for Kubo to cutback for the goal https://streamja.com/RRAR (only shows the backheel)
Running in front of his marker to get on the end of a cross. Quick reactions and first to a rebound. Taking a golden opportunity. Fantastic technique to hit a first time screamer. Great build up play with an end product. What is this strange unusual play from a striker I’m witnessing?
I've thought a lot this morning about the fact that this guy is scoring world class goals for some team in Spain and we have Andre Gray as a backup striker. I've been chuckling a lot.
It's Gino's running gag to always have at least one more capable striker than the back ups in the squad out on loan. Got rid of Vydra in favour of Oulare, Diamanti and Ibarbo, then in recent years we've had Cucho, Lukebakio and now Suarez rattling goals in all over Europe whereas our next cab off the rank is Anxious Andre or Isaac Success with his strike rate of one Premier League goal every two seasons. Oh how they laugh about it in the directors' box, lolz.
If we don't line up with Cucho and Suarez (and instead sell them) next season then I don't see the point of the model. Even Matheus is scoring goals on a regular basis now, while Estupinan is having a terrific season. These guys are the future of Watford, not saleable assets. I think we're all sick of our ageing, failing, 19th place squad.
https://as.com/futbol/2020/05/01/primera/1588366931_842087.html In AS newspaper 1st May, Cucho says after various years belonging to Watford its now time to wear the shirt.
I watched Cucho make a rare start as the lone CF for Mallorca in their 1-0 away loss at Villarreal. Mallorca really aren't a very good side, but Cucho didn't seem any better than those around him. He was busy, but ineffective. Mallorca looked a more dangerous side when Budimir came on as a striker in the 2nd half. My opinion of Cucho expressed here and elsewhere eg Suarez's thread remains.
Doesn't look any better than those around him and we have plenty of strikers who can finish like that. My opinion remains. Do what you will.
I was going to post something similar - the whole thing was at walking pace (despite it being 20 minutes in). Cucho screwed up his second touch as well which would have lost him the ball against a more alert defence, and the shot wasn't even in the corner.
Has anyone got any clips of him dealing with a 60 yard head height pass whilst holding off a 6ft4 defender though?
Hahaha fantastic! Cheers Reids Just checking though - you say it didn't end well - is this not what we are meant to see on a match day?
Well one of our loan players seems to keen to give it a go at Watford... For now anyway! https://mobile.twitter.com/COYHorns...io/iframe/twitter.min.html1278214252214382593
To be honest, I could care less if he’s not a ‘natural’ replacement for Deeney as our style needs to be better than just hoofing it up to him anyway. There’s little to no doubt in my mind that Cucho and Suarez would do a far better job as a striker with Deulofeu and Sarr either side.
Really ? You're giving them too much credit. Personally I couldn't care less, it really doesn't matter to me at all.
Good header actually. Still shows that his best position is as a left-sided forward though unfortunately.
