Just remember, when the suffragettes were asking for "Votes for women," they were not asking for them at the expense of men.
The suffragettes were white supremacist liberal racists. They wanted parity for their own class and ethnicity with men, not the end of discrimination. (Therefore any statues of them should be torn down)
That analogy doesn't really work in the way you want it to though, as pedantically speaking giving the vote to women did come "at the expense of men", as effectively it reduced the value of each man's vote by about half.
Just to reinforce what Dom said earlier. Please keep the topic confined to the actual match. Tactics, injuries, physical advantage in terms of 55 hours extra rest for us. Some of the comments earlier have sailed perilously close to suggesting that Burnley as a club is intentionally or institutionally racist on the basis of the players it recruits and fields. Remember the law of slander please. Posts veering off into the realm of political/social debate should be kept in that forum if you wish to discuss this issue further seeing as the suffragette issue is now being discussed. Thank you for your co-operation.
I noticed it at the time and mentioned it on Shoutbox. Couldn't work out whether he'd genuinely hurt himself or was just limping for effect having broken up a promising attack.
Ali Koiki has never played for Burnley's first team and is on loan at Swindon. He is home grown ie he wasn't recruited from another club.
No news as yet. Hopefully it's just a minor knock or strain that a couple of days rest cannot sort out. It goes without saying Ismaila is crucial to the rest of the campaign. When in full stride no fullback can live with him and playing down the middle he is more than a handful as well. He may well end up playing there. He also has a great attitude of just wanting to play for the love of it. I loved the celebration with Dawson. Some players our very own Nando were less than enthusiastic at times about the team aspect of these. With such a busy schedule he will need careful management.
Shiiiiiit, I did get a bit worried seeing him lose control of the ball before their goal, but as I hadn't heard anything about it, and he finished the game, I just assumed he was fine. Hopefully he'll be able to play some part on Thursday, definitely don't want him playing 90 mins every game
Looked like he was moving ok afterwards to me. Surely they wouldn't take any risks with our prized asset?
I know you have (I believe) Spanish as a first language, and your English is pretty impeccable, but tolerated is a very loaded word. Accepted would be better.
I was born in London and I love the diversity there. It's enriched my life in so many different ways.
Can I suggest the mods move all BLM related posts from this thread to the other thread specifically designed for that particular debate ? Would stop the replies on this thread.... this thread should be just about the match...
How have you read that post, but not my post in response that effectively gives you your answer that's like four posts below it?
I'll be interested to see how Pearson manages the squad with the amount of games. It's hard to imagine Capoue, or Deeney can play 3 games in a week. Do you think he'll see Burnley or Saints as the more winnable game?
I think we have to see both as winnable in the circumstances and just hope we can get in a winning position early enough in a game to make full use of the 5 subs.
Probably. I think playing Saints 3 days after playing away at Burnley will be rough though, especially with their pressing, so i'd be inclined to say Burnley is more winnable.
Would be happy with a point. But can see us taking all three. Barnes and wood out is a massive plus for us. Just hope Matty V has a stinker.
Absolutely. White people weren't slaves in America or the UK, they aren't currently being murdered because of the colour of their skin in the USA by the police. You let them have this one because it is the right thing to do. Yes ALL lives do matter but that isn't the issue here is it.
Well, it does then, because for every black person given a fair crack, my white privilege is diluted.
Noted. Sorry. I've been guilty. Anyway, Burnley a team of knuckle dragging, primative, anti-football thugs.
Surest sign yet that both are leaving. Penaranda (like a new signing) and Success can more than adequately cover.
