So do we believe the player himself or a fan site which doesn’t even source what it says?

It would be amusing if, after years of the much touted Pozzo system, we finally find a young player that’s actually first-team level and end up losing them for peanuts because we’re relegated. And to Barcelona of all teams.

A good player, a bit like Deeney with pace. Lots of harrying defenders and a goal tally bumped up by penalties blasted down the middle.

Cannot see him wanting to play in the Championship here if clubs in Spain are after him!

Same for many of our loan players.

Well... He's in the second division in Spain which is much worse than the Championship. Cucho was successful only in the Segunda. Acuna was dreadful in the Championship after tearing up Segunda... Hard to properly assess.

Or a translated quote on Sport Witness? I'd be surprised if the fan site got this one wrong when the others all appear to be correct - but you never know.

There’s a screenshot of the Marca article on the SW page with his response literally on it! The question refers to Watford and how many years he has left with us and the answer is ‘this year and two more’. Anyway, whatever, I’m not going argue more about a player we’ll never see in a Watford shirt.

Watford Observer suggesting Barca genuinely have approached to take over Zaragoza’a loan off Suarez - and the Spanish system allows it. But we have refused.

Article doesn’t say we won’t sell in the summer though. Seems to suggest we could at the right price.

They might not want him in the summer though. Barca seem to be in a bit of a similar situation to the one Man Utd were at the end of the window where they were just desperate to get in an extra body up front and so ended up with Ighalo as being pretty much the only feasible signing available. Suarez perhaps just looked the same to Barca at this moment in time given that he's already on a loan deal, and there won't be many other clubs in the Spanish leagues willing to let their strikers leave now the window is closed.

Seems likely the club blocked the move because they think he'd get less game time at Barca. No point moving him away from a club where he's getting a lot of games just to sit on Barca's bench.

Lots of rumours flying around about our Suarez

    - Atletico want him (along with Estupinan)
    - Valencia are after him
    - Lazio want him and we're wanting €8-10m for him
    - Napoli want him and we're after €50m for him (presumably we're still mad at them about the Zuniga transfer)

On the other hand, I saw an article on Twitter yesterday that said he has been told he will be at Watford next season!

    Will never play for us.

I'm sure when we sell him for £10m, everyone will praise the club for selling a player that was 'never going to be good enough' again.

He might be good enough or he may not be but £10m for a players that has cost very little is decent business. We do need to sell players still to balance the books and there is no guarantee a player doing well in Spain will do well here. Is that a gamble worth taking for a player not playing in the top division?

Sorry, is there something wrong with that? Making £10m for very little effort doesn't seem a bad idea. The flip side is we bring him over here, he's utter tosh and we sell him for £1m to Cadiz. If the club decide he has the ability to make the step up then I'm all for it but if they feel that £10m is a good deal for a player who has had one good season in the second division in Spain I would understand that as well

He looks a very good prospect, even better than Cucho for instance imo - I suspect £10mil will be relative peanuts for him. It seems the club also reckon he has the ability to make the step up and we could do with another good striker, with Deeney getting on a bit and Gray still crap.

according to this (last paragraph) he has 2 years to run on his contract and is on 400,000 a year of which Watford are going to offer a substantial improvement to lengthen the contract. It also says elsewhere that Watford are asking 50 million for his sale.

Seems a bit cheap (in the ridiculous footballing world that is) if one is in the Hornet hierarchy. Are we underselling ? If he carries on the way he has been doing I would rather see him stay within the fold and play in the yellow of both Watford and Colombia at the same time.

Agree. We could do with him here. I very much doubt if we were to sell it would be for such a small amount either.

Not doubt he will be involved in some kind of swap deal imo. 17 goals is impressive but it is only their second division. Cucho scored 16 in that league and he's not really flourished in La Liga. It's going to be a very interesting window though.
