Not sure you can read much in to that - the messenger is claiming one of the 3 players with numbers is one of the wolves, but it'd be impossible for them to know the roles of the other two players with numbers already.

Actually it's 5 players today as there is also Diamond's 'April Fool' added to the mix - so they would have had a 29% chance of viewing an "evil" person (24% of correctly viewing an evil person).

Are we saying that there are effectively 2 tinkers, with the April fool. So wont there be 5 players showing as Evil ? 2 Wolves, Traitor, Tinker and April Fool ?

So there is a 3/5 chance that Nisman is Evil, 2/5 that he is Tinker or April Fool.

Can someone more knowledgeable than me confirm ?

I missed that. Soz. I thought people were counting the cub, who wouldn't show as evil yet.

If that's not the seer's message then shouldn't the seer now also view nisman? Then we can get an idea of which message is the first one. View him as evil then we definitely have an evil. View him as good and we can still lynch nisman and get who's message is who's.

Morning all. Pub’s open all day now that our village lockdown is over.
Weird first message. Would be very lucky to have viewed a player as evil on day 1; but would also be a very ballsy wolf to do so. Don’t understand the first part but, if it is the Seer, I guess they’re trying to give us a clue?

All that is only true if that message is from the seer.

As for the cyrptic message, I recall the only other game I played the messages were poetic and the wolf had tried to imitate the writing style of the person who turned out to be the seer but failed, and so the source of the messages became apparent.

Ill ask my girlfriend to have a look, she loves logic and word based problems.

I took Diamond’s April Fool comment to just be confirmation that we have a tinker, rather than saying we have an extra one.

Yes obviously, if any message is from the wolf then you cant extract any useful conclusions from it as its all likely to be lies.

If that was a cryptic clue from the seer to out themselves, I think I know who it refers to but it would be too dangerous to say.

However I will decipher the first bit "If numbers are letters", numbers 1 and 100 are I and C, IC sounds like "I see".

    Anonymous Message. Received at 12.30.

    Good afternoon kind villagers
I’d view you all if I could
But I looked at the varying in size man
And saw that he was good

    Beware the impatient wolf
    They messaged earlier you see
With the right choices made today
A successful lynching there might be

    All the best

Where did you get the numbers 1 and 100 from though?

I like your thinking, but where did you get 100 from and in turn C?

Is there any good reason why, if the second message was the seer, then they wouldn't have also viewed nisman?

Wouldn't that have helped team good more than going for another random?

Either way I guess we have no choice but to lynch nisman now.

If message 1 was the seer, it would have made more sense that message 2 would name a random person evil.
If message 1 was the wolf, as Horace said, it would have made more sense in viewing Nisman, and rather than being silly just name the person who they viewed.

The second message needed to be clearer. Does it name who was 'viewed'?

What is Diamond's April Fool that people are talking about? I seem to have missed it.

Looking at the second message 'varying in size man' - BigRossLittleRoss?

Now is that from the wolf or the seer?

Well, if the second message is the Seer they are a bona fide idiot.

Exactly. Make it a 50/50 and maybe save their evil compatriot for another day. Second message makes no sense to me from either side.

If the second message is from the Seer then why would they not view someone?

Surely thats the main and only power of the seer. Or am I missing some kind of advanced strategy ?

Jeezo these 2 messages are trying to be overly clever.

I presume the idea is that styles will become harder to copy as the week goes on but there's being cryptic and then there's being bloody difficult.

I don't get not specifically naming someone outright I have to say.

You've been cryptically named in the second message.

I also don't understand why the second message would be as equally cryptic as the first. Surely a seer wouldn't try to replicate a cryptic style if the wolf already had?

For that reason I'm thinking message 1 is the seer.

I'm also not ruling out 2 wolves messages in some April Fool day 1 twist?! Would @Diamond do that to us?!!!

I think we need to hope that the first message is the Seer. The second message is written the way a child writes poetry. It will be quite easy for the person who wrote Message 1 to copy the style of Message 2 but I doubt the person who wrote the second message could write in the same manner as the first one.

They're not equally cryptic. No-one has worked the first one out for sure, if there is even anything to work out rather than it being deliberately misleading (Otter thinks he has an inkling). The second one is easily decipherable.

And no, I don't think Diamond would do that, it would stuff the game up.

The first message isn't particularly cryptic to me. Random nonsense followed by who they viewed. Not difficult. Neither are particularly. A lot of fluff around a viewing/non-viewing.
