    BANG!

The report of gunfire echoed through the village square. A figure ran towards the intended target, there writhing in agony in the gloom of the street lights was a wolf.
The gunslinger stood over him and aimed one more time and asked, "Any last words?"
The wolf laughed despite the pain, "Fool, you wasted a bullet. There's a villager with the virus, just my luck, I went for them and then they sneezed."
The gunslinger took a step back, checking what ammunition was remaining, there was plenty. Before the gunslinger was about to fire again, the wolf took his last breath. The horror of what was to come was dawning, "Wolves and a sick person?", the gunslinger stuttered, "This requires skill, luck, a seer, silver bullets and 50 rolls of toilet paper."

    The village is open.

    • Remember that everyone must post at least twice.
    • The two messages must arrive by 1pm, I will timestamp them with the time I received them when I post them on.
    • Village to close at 4pm.

Morning all. Still at work for the moment but suspect that may change today. Potentially lots of time to patrol the village this week!

Morning, I've spent most of the weekend reading up about this and still haven't got a clue. Will see how I get on.

I'm referring to posting letters during a time of crisis, obviously. Can you please all get Ring doorbells or something.

Safe to assume from the write up that the gunslinger has more than one bullet remaining.

Last game, they had a daytime and nighttime bullet. The use of the word 'plenty' might suggest they have even more this time.

I can see the cemetery. Running this and home-schooling a 7 year old while working is going to be interesting! As I assume most people are working from home, I set the end time as 4pm which should allow me to get things done!

does the gunslinger definitely have a nighttime bullet though? When I played I only had the one bullet and then played up a second bullet with a bit of bravado. It worked for a couple of days before the wolves caught on.

Anyway morning all, the village vets are still open and running. Please try to observe social distancing when you bring your pets in to see me.

Ah ok, the day I read in Otter's last game was the day you mentioned the night time bullet so didn't remember that you made it up!

    Good morning Villagers,

Sadly due to it being day one I've had to take a random guess to begin the game.
Every game day one ends up being a bit of a disaster.

I decided to view horace_goes_up_north this morning and I can confirm he is good.

Let's wait until we get the second message before wildly speculating.

I'll have a Bloody Mary - no doubt the tipple of choice for a drunkard wolf. ;)

If you're really enforcing the 11am start time, then I'll begin with a Virgin Mary.

    Dearest Villagers,
Do not be fooled by the first message as we seem to have an inexperienced wolf lurking within. I have viewed one of you and that person has been confirmed as good. I see no benefit in revealing their name just yet as it gives the evil team a confirmed target to aim at. All will be revealed in good time my friends.
    Your Faithful Servant, Seer

Erm well that's a little unusual. Surely the seer would name an innocent regardless? Has this happened in any of the previous games?

Ok going out on a limb here as it's quiet, maybe it's the booze talking but possibly the first message is the wolf, the second is the seer putting Horace in the crosshairs. If the wolf spied a fellow wolf or the carrier, then it's in their interest to pass them off as good.

It's a long shot, but I haven't anything else to go on.

    Morning all.

Sorry for the lack of participation so far. 8 day old Horace Jr has been a big old grumpyguts all morning!

Just caught up on the action so far. So I've bee named as good already and I can confirm I'm good.

Second message is clearly the wolf. Why name no one? Seems a bit weird and gives us just one name to lynch tonight instead of a 50/50 choice where they may accidentally name a wolf.

Is a bit of a curve ball as it's either me or an unnamed person at random.

    Congratulations Horace.

Afternoon all, I'm the only one in the office today, (I mean workshop), so it's busy but blissful. Don't think I've ever seen a day 1 message not naming anybody, very odd.

    Congrats Horace.

An interesting start - never known a message not name anyone.
@hornetgags the wolf won’t have spied a fellow wolf, as they only discover one another’s identity if they both go for the same kill. Plus, it would be a very risky strategy to name a known evil player as “good” on the first day. As the wolf, you want confusion to reign over which messages are from the Seer and which from the Wolf for as long as possible.

    Hi all

Unusual second message to say the least. I've seen this suggestion of someone being inexperienced before as a bit of a tactic and it doesn't always sit well with me. First impressions are seer 1, wolf 2 but open minded.

Day 1 is always tricky and now it's even harder.

I am more inclined to think message 1 is the seer as it always makes sense for the seer to post first on day 1. A wolf usually waits for the seer's message on day one in case the seer gets lucky and implicates someone evil.

Waiting for the missing players to post. We need to vote by 4pm from Otters opening today. I'd rather vote for someone not participating than a named player who's taking part, (however they were named).

Agreed. The job of the seer is to help team good and that second message is awful if it is the seer. No help whatsoever.

Is it too early to start looking at post counts? Anyone too quiet or staying under the radar? Anyone seem a little too overly talkative early on? Anyone stating the bloody obvious just to be seen to be helpful?!

    My thoughts exactly.

If Otter is going to 'kill' any inactive players, we may as well lynch them seeing as we have nothing really to go on.
