...and why he was released by Stoke. Supposedly great in Scotland last season and keen to show us why he's capable of winning the #1 spot. But we ain't seen nothin yet. To emphasise the point, Bachman Turner Overdrive only reached #2, never a #1 in England.
Bachmann is the number three keeper though. We've had some right stinkers for this position in the past. As a number three he's ok. A backup to the backup. But I'm often hearing that he wants to play games and expects to be pushing for the number one position. He's a bit delusional if he thinks he's at that level. He should accept where he is, and be happy to earn a trade with a Premier League club. However, if he really has the desire to play every week, then he'll have to drop down a league or two in order to do it.
I've just been reading his interview on the official club site, and it seems he started out his footballing career as a striker! Maybe we should try him up front as we desperately need more fire power up front, especially as he does not seem to be doing very well as a Keeper right now
He's been left back at the training ground for almost every first team game this season, so it's role he's accustomed to.
No he didn't it was because he wanted to be a GK, his manager at the time actually wanted him to stay as striker as he was the teams top goal scorer
Bachmann has signed a new long term deal with the club, keeping him here until 2024. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...hand-new-deals-daniel-bachmann-daryl-janmaat/
He must be very good in training. Two first team games against crap league one opposition and he's been poor in both.
Or just happy to be 2nd choice at best. He does seem to have a high opinion of himself saying before he should be starting.
Bachmann bogging up Ivic naturally hoping he will be selected. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...oach/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor
Seems like it’s working: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...bachmann-praised-watford-coach-vladimir-ivic/
Not sure if this has been suggested before, but seems to me we have an obvious song/chant for him: - Da da da da da da da da Bachmann
Fighting talk from Dan. https://mobile.twitter.com/WD18Fans/status/1349000928775561216 Sadly for him don’t think one decent game will means he gets a look in.
We ain't see nothin yet as it's too early for weekend team news, but yes I strongly suspect on Saturday we will see Foster back man.
If that's what he's after he might as well leave as he has as much chance of displacing Foster as the strikers do with Deeney. Doesn't matter that Foster was to blame for several goals recently, you could tell from his most recent video he knows that his place is secure, that's why he was patronisingly talking about the life "Big Dan" has as a number 2. He doesn't see him as competition, he's just back up. Shame as by all reports he did well in Scotland. Who knows whether he'd have kicked on if he was actually allowed to play regular football?
He'll probably get sent out on another loan when Dahlberg comes back, get great reviews and then be sold for 500k to Newcastle to be their no. 2.
Maybe he needs to set up a YouTube channel of himself unicycling round the area, raise his profile a bit
Can kick the ball well too, which is more than Foster can do. Has Foster got an unexpected rival on his hands?
Solid enough performance albeit rarely tested. Would not mind some competition for our cyclist. Keep him on his toes until Dahlberg takes over.
He’s got a really great chance now. A run of good solid performances with no **** ups, and the #1 spot is his.
I hope Foster doesn’t just walk back into the side. I don’t necessarily think Bachmann is the long-term solution to the GK position, but I’m over the poor-kicking, and blasé attitude to winning/losing that has been a part of Foster’s game for a while now. If we’re going to right the wrongs of the last couple seasons, we need younger players, who are hopefully more motivated to improve themselves to take the chances they get, and reduce the roles of older players.
