18 year old Turkish CB from Galatasaray. Reported 7.5m euros fee. https://twitter.com/sporcope/status/1080768060599033856 Played in the Champions League this year for them and started most league games. Looks like the 7.5m is his release clause and has been linked recently to United, Roma & Lyon.
'roma.manchester united . manchester ctry . inter , dortmund ,juventus dedikodularından yok aldı yok gitti yok anlaştı dan gidilen takım watford.' Intriguing! The yok yok bit translates as 'no gossip disappeared disappeared gone Watford'. He's gone to Watford or Watford has gone?
Translated from a website reporting this: Skorer.com, Ozan Kabak has learned the team to transfer. Galatasaray young stopper Ozan Kabak Premier League team transfers to Watford. Details about the transfer will be at skorer.com.
Plenty of twitter talk from Turkey that the deal has been agreed with Watford. Also a similar amount of twitter talk saying the deal has been agreed with Cardiff.
I imagine last night he saw the quality of the defenders he will be up against to get in the team and, after countless reassurances that this REALLY was our first team, couldn't wait to sign up.
Exactly what we need. Young, fast, brave, tall. Very good signing. The Pozzo's have pulled another rabbit out of the hat. Now to get Cahill.
If he signs and is paired with Kabasele it would be the first centre back pairing featuring players whose names share the first four letters since Wally (Bunty) Pearce and Alfred Pearson turned out for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1923.
We'd have to think of a new nickname, instead of just Kabs. Mind you we seemed to cope with that when we had Kabasele and Kaboul.
Apparently there are many big clubs across Europe looking at this young lad but we could offer him first team football in the premier league and I would imagine our league position and being a more established premier league team we would have more chance of getting him than Cardiff. We could also offer them Prodl or Britos, Wilmot on loan.
Some very positive things being said about him in Twitter world. He's been a regular for them in the domestic league and Champions League this season, so wouldn't just be one for the future despite his age.
That was short lived. He wants to stay at Galatasaray. https://www.futbolarena.com/galatasaray/galatasarayda-ozan-kabakin-transferinde-son-durum-364090h/
When teams all played in a 2-3-5 formation? You could argue that we achieved that in 1965/66 season when Alan Williams and Johnny Williams played together in defence.
Ok going to tidy this thread up, as expected it went way off-track. Feel free to message me directly hb1 if you have an issue
Sorry, I should have said ‘first four letters of different last names’. That Wolves team played a highly experimental 4-2-4 formation when Godfrey (won’t score today) Edwards was ironically their top scorer.
I saw an article earlier saying that he was in the middle of renegotiating his current deal at Galatasaray when, lo and behold, Watford and Cardiff both met his release clause and he remembered it was always his dream to play in the UK Premiership League. It's almost as though the whole thing was a load of old ******** cooked up by an agent to get him a better deal...
Looks like he's going to Stuttgart. https://www.football-italia.net/133333/roma-miss-out-ozan Rabbit is back in the hat.
