Nice interview but didn’t really discuss much of substance. They directly asked him when does he expect to return... he laughed and said he didn’t want to say on the radio, but not long.

Saw him at Top Golf. Might be in contention for Saturday if he makes the cut.

Best news of the whole transfer window, if he were to suddenly be declared fit. Not getting my hopes up that we'll see him before March though. My god, we've missed him.

What the fck have they done to him? Ignoring the Prodl mun, it looks like he’s had a small horse attached around his waist.

It's actually a piece of medical equipment designed to help support some of your weight. It allows him to start running and gradually strengthen the knee, gently easing it back in to full use without all of his body weight going through the joint.

The only negative aspect of this picture/video is it means that - barring a miracle - he's still some way off full contact training on the football pitch.

    Promising news but lukewarm banter.

They merely say Yes or repeat his name or make an abstruse reference to driving licences.

    More Webb than Mitchell.

    Great news.

I was wondering about full UK driving licenses processed directly online, and now we know!

According to the Independent he's about to start training outside to see how his knee holds up on grass. Still no time given for a return as they don't know how well he'll react.

    Historical note.

I don’t recall any discussion ever as to how Welbourne D’s knee would hold up on grass.

    Then was different to now.

Just as the weather turns icy. They may want to reconsider this next week or it’ll be years before we see him again.

We already he knew he was out for the foreseeable future? Did anyone genuinely expect him back in a couple of weeks

It’s worrying that he feels he has to be so positive.

Seems to have lost touch with reality.

I'm convinced this injury happened in the Man City game when he got cleaned out by Walker late in the game but no penalty was given. It definitely looked like it was his knee that was hurt and even though he finished the game, he wasn't moving properly. It just seems like such a weird injury to get in training, I don't remember ever hearing of a player breaking a bone in a training session, and particularly not fracturing a kneecap, surely that has to come from a hefty collision rather than getting a foot stuck in the turf or turning sharply?

Probably the safest place for him to be, far away enough from our medical team that they can't hinder his recovery any further.

Shall we just leave him out til next season? Him and all the other injured players. Why rush them back? We are virtually safe, theyd only get injured again if we bring them back too early.

Dunno - I think he needs some game-time to be considered for, the farce that will be, the world cup.

I think for Chalobah it might be positive if he can get back on the pitch this season, if only to draw a line under it and let him go into pre-season knowing he can start afresh.

I’m not savvy enough to screenshot it and put it on here, but his latest Instagram ‘story’ post has got me feeling happier...
