18 year old Swedish keeper. Highly regarded in Sweden and on the 3 man shortlist for Swedish goalkeeper of the year. Price rumoured to be between €3m-4m. https://www.expressen.se/gt/sport/ar-pa-vag-att-saljas-for-rekordsumma/
What is the pontus of signing a 18 year old GK? He's hardly going to be experienced enough to deputise for Gomes is he?
We have a good record of getting a couple of years out of cheap or free experienced keepers towards the end of their career. I'd like to see another Gomes/Almunia type keeper who can alternate matches or coved for injuries as required.
I’ve been to Pontus at Camber Sands. My favourite was Prestatyn. I remember that Moody Blues song about it ‘Nights in Prestatyn’. Never heard of Dahlberg though, sounds like lentil ice cream.
Apparently at London Colney sorting out his move for next Month... http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp....Goalkeeper_in_discussions_over_Watford_move/
Good. Bachmann looked solid in Preseason and Gomes isn't getting any younger (Though he seems to be getting better!) and I'd wager Karnezis will go back to Udinese in January after their gamble on Scuffet seems to have failed at least for this season leaving us with two recognised GK's.
Picked up by SSN now, £2.9m http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11686/11157526/watford-in-talks-to-sign
Plenty of 'big clubs' interested in him but are there any stats to judge against someone like Pickford?
There's nothing stopping clubs negotiating and completing deals before a registration window, BUT the transfers can only take place during the Winter and Summer windows.
Didn’t realise the Swedish season runs March-November. Anyway he pulled off some decent saves in the season that just finished. 5 clean sheets, 2 MOTM awards. Not bad considering his team finished 10th out of 16 teams.
Cons: Ugly, spotty, giraffe neck Pros: Part of the racially pure Aryan master race. I'm on the fence with this one.
Prodl looked like a chubby, spotty blonde teenager when he was at Werder. This Pontus bloke will end up looking like Brad Pitt in a few years... Mark my words
A couple of good saves, however the majority were ones I'd expect a professional goalkeeper to make. Shotstopping is only part of it, command of the area, communication/organisation and decision making are just as crucial.
