We had a picture of The Nest, Norwich earlier in the thread. You needed to be brave to watch football there!
No and you HAD to bring up that name didn't you? I remember crying my little eyes out that day, no amount of Cresta and smooth, chewy Texan bars could bring me round. That name still makes me shudder. As for the ground, Watford have played there since reaching the Premier League.
Sorry about that! Any way we only have gone on to play Oldham had we won, not exactly exciting opposition!!!
I'm not at all certain but I think my then best mate would've been playing left back for N.V. that day
Errrmmmm...... In the two games that we've played there, only one of our players has scored, whereas three of there's have.
Noooo, we've played at this ground more than once since arriving back in the Premier League. Events the second time caused a small amount of controversy.
Is that ground on post 259 or 282 mrlizard? Only one I can think of that we have never won at is Goodison.
My one, 259 To the best of my knowledge, we've only ever played there twice. I'd hazard a guess, after the events leading up to the second time, that we probably won't be playing there again any time soon.
Cant be any Pem ground, bar perhaps Bournemouth.. and we've defo won there. The other place im thinking is Woking. Didnt we play there season before last and took the U23's there this season but it was supposed to have been the 1st team?
Yes thought that one would go soon enough. Thought it looked quite different though.. without the series of small stands down the left there and i think the open bit next to the main stand has temporary seating, for a cup game possibly. Next.
I stood where that temporary stand is next the main stand with my dad, uncle and cousin back in 1969/70. It definately wasn't as big as it is in that picture. I also remember the wall there collapsed during that game!
Found out the pic was from a FA cup 5th round game vs Blackburn in 1964.. and the back part was a temporary stand.
[QUITE="samuihorn, post: 2578339, member: 2937"]Is that Crystal Palace, The Nest & Selhurst Park?[/QUOTE] It is indeed. Apparently this is a bit of the old stand at The Nest now a railway depot. Just post 309 to do.
