A bit anonymous in his first sub appearance in difficult circumstances. Made one very decent run and hit an absolute peach of a through ball first time to Gray. Promising signs.
Promising signs indeed. Just hope he doesn't turn into another Niang; who gets tired after 60 minutes and doesn't track back at all.
I felt that he hadn't had enough time to gel with the squad before the match as it was. Coming on in the circumstances made it harder for him. I expect with our style of play that we will give Southampton a tough game.
I do hope he doesn't have to go through his whole Watford career being called 'Carilo' though. It's pronounced CA-RRREE-YO. Go on, try it commentators. It's easy.
You are quite right to point this out and I expect Emma Saunders at the very least to get it right. One minor adjustment, as I said earlier in this thread in Peru the ll pronunciation instead of being a Y sound is closer to how the French sound a J (or how the "s" is sounded in "vision").
Yep, there's definitely a very good player there. Let's hope his head doesn't drop after Gray fluffs his 25th peach of a through ball.
I didn't know the Peruvians do that too. I knew the Argies do it, very strong - "Vamos a la pla-sh-a con una bote-sh-a" etc...
Yes. Met some Argies in Venezuela who pronounced "pollo" as "posho." Of course they could just have been talking about me
They were ordering sandwich meat, but to be fair I was out of my tree on cheap ron for most of that holiday
Played in Peru's 2-1 win over Bolivia last night Played a big part in the first goal with some great wing play at 7:38 Second goal was a beauty from Christian Cueva, who we were linked with during the window
Im currently working on the film 'Paddington 2'. Got talking to the P man yesterday on set and his inside ITK scout report on the Peru team, is that Carillo is the dogs marmalade and Cueva is one to watch for the future. Both are sh1t of a shovel, he said. He then dissapeared into his Winnebago with a bag of local Peruvian produce that his man brings over for him from the old country, accompanied by a whole bevvy of very saucy, girly teddy bears.
Not convinced that was "great wing play" - it looks like he could have crossed it at the first time of beating his man, then checked back unnecessarily to go and beat him again. His cross then failed to beat the first guy at the near post...
Teddy bears in this context would usually be taken to mean butch, hairy homosexuals, though I'm not sure how you can have "girly" ones... Either way, it certainly doesn't surprise me to learn that Paddington is gay.
Agreed. He did get the ball across, which Bat wouldn't have done, but his cross was no better than one of Anya's.
Haha, I'm not sure I would go quite that far - at least unlike Anya he managed to get the ball off the floor...
