God help any of the Jaguar employees or driving pupils who had the misfortune to work with him...

5 years is the maximum possible term of imprisonment.

I hope the family's insurance company now sues for compensation given that this **** has been convicted.

I wonder how the bloke will fare inside when his fellow inmates find out exactly how he ended up in there? I think justice will be found.

Hopefully it's a wake up to people who drive like that. And it's got to be said it's often similar cars that are tailgating me at high speed. They seem to appeal to a certain sort of driver who likes power and road dominance. Not saying you can't drive one well, I'd just like to see it now and again.

It's a regular occurrence on my commute down and up the A41. You travel in a long line of traffic doing a steady 80 and you still end up with someone in one of these right up yer chuff.

Yep, a common occurrence for my daily commute seems to be one of these w***ers. One of these days I swear I'm going to slam the brakes on.

That scum will be out in less than three years to enjoy the rest of his life, while those two poor girls and their families will have a life sentence, I really don't understand the mentality of "tailgaters" why the police don't come down hard on it I don't understand, driving up someones arse at 60 mph is a lot more dangerous than doing 100mph in my opinion, you can be on a solid motorway, on the inside lane, and you still get some **** a few feet behind your bumper.

I hope they do get a good payout but will be of little compensation for the life they are going to have

Had another example when me and the lad were out bikes this mornings. We were descending a short hill just below 30mph. Car behind us was patient and when the road widened didn't take our cue to pass as we kept well over. No matter as we soon came to a junction. Car behind us exited first hotly pursued by an Audi TT, horn blaring, roaring up behind the other cars bumper. The first slightly hesitant, but careful, driver might have delayed the other by as much as 5 seconds. It's an infantile inability to deal with frustration at odds with the high power of the car

Having watched the first 3 seconds of the clip on the BBC link, I at first didn't realise the driver had overtaken another car on the nearside before cutting across. Nowhere does the report say whether he got a driving ban, but surely for doing that he should get a lengthy driving ban starting from his release date.

As it winds me up no end I've very consciously decided to not engage with any of it. So I don't speed up and then I get out of the way when there is space in the next lane. Which is fine until the idiot behind tries to undertake you. Some don't seem to understand why you might leave a few cars gap in front of you in fast moving heavy traffic and want to occupy it so they can push the next driver on.

**** should kill himself. I think I would, but then again I would not have been driving like a **** either. Big man in his big car.

Wondered if he would have been as brave if it was a big builder in the car in front or a 3 or 4 men in the car.
