Don't think that's true. If Joka had been in place over the summer, thus avoiding the need for his bedding in period during the season, I suspect we'd have won the title with ease. His bedding in period during the season was not ideal.

As it is, they barely pipped us on the final day thanks to a last minute freak Wednesday goal despite four head coaches in one season.

No doubt about it though, our squad has improved far more than theirs over the summer.

Ah, how did I know that a load of our fans would be ready to pounce at any Bournemouth misfortune. The hostility that some of you have developed is hilarious - their fans don't give a t0ss about us.

The media love in makes total sense to me - New Premier League team after coming all the way through the Football League, young English manager, progressive football, young English striker. Whether we like it or not, they are an underdog story with English figures at the centre of it. This is how the mainstream media works. It's not in anyway surprising, and it's not really their fault.

Their style might to be too gung-ho for this league. They should be credited for their fearlessness, but it's as much a weakness as it is a strength. And their squad is too thin.

I've said it before, but I hope we hammer them so this nonsense rivalry that has been constructed on our end goes away.

I wouldn't be concerned about injuries in midfield or defence as we have proven replacements, but I don't think we are particularly strong up front. If one or both of our only two tried and tested forwards (the successful partnership) were to be injured, then it would be a concern, surely?

Yes - we don't really know how Ibarbo would come in and play.

It is a shame what has happened to Callum Wilson, we remember what it was like to lose our most recognised striker when Marlon King got injured the last time we were in the Prem.

So while I certainly don't love Bournemouth, I certainly feel for them as I remember what the rest of that season was like...

I've never wished ill on any rival,Steve Foster apart, but I did have a strange premonition on Thursday that Wilson would come a cropper. I put it down to eating cheese after 9pm!

People make good points about our two previous matches at Dean Court or whatever it is now called.Time to right the wrongs then!

QSF prefers one up front, he's playing 2 because we have 2 exceptional strikers. So we only really need 1 fit striker to function & we've got 4 in the squad. I know 2 are untested but they both appear to have good ability. You can never cover every possible scenario but I think in all probability we'll be fine.

I think if 2 starting strikers were injured for literally any PL team it would be a concern. Even teams like Arsenal and City would be weakened significantly. I'd have to see how Ibarbo/Oulare perform before making a judgement.

I think our set-up and mentality were superior, as proved by our amazing run at the end. Bournemouth came very close to bottling it.

However, I think an argument could be made that their squad was slightly stronger than ours. Ignoring formations, I would have taken Francis, Cook, Elphick, Pugh, Arter, Daniels, Wilson and Ritchie. I think it's very close though.

Luckily for us, Gino was aware of the technical step-up of the Premier League and has reacted accordingly. Now, the only player imo who would have a chance of getting into our starting XI (Gradel), is injured.

Well that is two players in the same position (both can play up front or just behind the striker but they are both traditionally strikers).

Bournemouth have only 1 injured striker (Gradel is a winger) so its not the same as comparing it to both Deeney and Ighalo getting injured. It would be like saying Deeney, Jurado and Anya all got injured,

Strachan seems to prefer Anya, not that I would necessarily trust his judgement

    Really?

Who would he replace out of Deeney, Abdi or Jurado?

This is becoming incredible now, 4th major injury in a few weeks to key players.

and the key moments were their goalkeeper making a howler, Gomes saving a barely deserved penalty and Watson hitting the bar

Plus Ighalo not getting a penalty while Smith got an undeserved penalty for deliberately running into the non-outstretched foot of a player he had to close 5 feet to come into contact with while going for an uncontrolled ball that was going away from goal and straight out of play.

Arter is back playing in the reserves right?

Hopefully he will get back some form by the end of the season and we can take a look at him when Bornmuff go down.

Horrendous luck. That's more or less equivalent to us having Ighalo, Nyom, Abdi, Deeney and Capoue all out for 3-6 months, imagine.
