Kind of fun watching Jobi McAnuff and Adrian Mariappa against the USA today. Where is Sir Lloyd?! It's all relative...
****ing CONCACAF... Next up is Mex v Panama. Hoping Panama can claim the upset and send Mexico to face the USA in the 3rd place game. So lame.
Friking CONCACAF... Mexico, Losing 1-0 to 10 man Panama, gets a second last minute penalty to bail them out.
Probably the worst footyball match I've ever witnessed. Mark Geiger was horrible. CONCACAF needs to straighten its Shiite out. http://screamer.deadspin.com/mexico-advance-to-gold-cup-final-after-panama-are-conca-1719666083
Just catching up on MEX vs. PAN. Oh my god. Really?! I know it makes me sound like an arrogant european, but that sort of (alleged) cheating couldn't happen in the EURO Championships, right?! Wowzer. I feel like I've been punched in the stomach - the Panama team and officials must be absolutely seething. They should have walked off after the first penalty was awarded.
The "penalty" against Costa Rica in the 93rd minute was equally as bad. Whole tournaments been a sham.
I really feel sorry for Ultra Sankt Pauli. They began singing their "We Love You" chant years and years ago. It is nauseating enough to hear it sung by supporters in England, but my goodness how awful does it sound being half-heartedly "belted out" in the Georgia Dome.
Mexico wins the Cup. USA flops out losing the third place match to Panama in PKs. Mexico fires their coach, and anyone criticizing Klinsmann is guilty of treason. CONCACAF...
This is shocking. No explanation either... http://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2015/07/30/la-galaxy-and-goalkeeper-jaime-penedo-part-ways Panama star goal keeper Jaime Penedo has been a beloved Galaxy player since 2013, but he is gone as of yesterday. No one knows exactly why.
Yeah, at least we don't have Ra's Al Ghul, notorious leader of the the League Of Shadows as our keeper. Did I get his name right?
I think Liam Neeson would make a great keeper. But yea I don't think he is even allowed to train with the team any more.

Speaking of which, apparently the new team in LA for 2017 thinks they have a shot at Crissy Ronaldo and Rooney. http://m.mlssoccer.com/news/article...obsessed-cristiano-ronaldo-interested-wayne-? Rooney seems like a fair shot. Ronaldo on the other hand would be a huge slap in the face to the Galaxy who are widely rumored to already have him lined up to replace Keane and/or Gerrard for 2017.
NYCFC were terrible. Andrea Pirlo: traffic cone for 60 minutes Frank Lampard: no show David Villa: pocket picked by Leonardo...twice. He was seriously questioning his life choices by the 80th minute. Mixx Diskerud: made ineffective by Steven Gerard Kwadwo Poku: budding starlet marked into irrelevance by Galaxy Defenders Josh Saunders: stoic in the nets but no help from defenders All NYCFC defenders: who are you? So the question is are Galaxy that good or are NYCFC that bad? I think it was a bit of both. It could easily have been 7-0 today. That was the third 5 goal game in a row for Galaxy, against CONCACAF Champs league and MLS opponents. Close season is coming up and it will be fun. Gio Dos Santos fit in so effortlessly, it's had to believe. Stevie G is working hard and that's good enough for me. Keane is just amazing: he never has a game off. Then the kids (Zardes, Lletget) are devastating, to the point I doubt Galaxy will be able to keep them next year. All smiles here in So Cal...
I've not seen a great deal of LA this season, but from what I've seen they look to be the best team in the MLS by quite a margin, extraordinary depth as well. I think it was a case of LA being that good against NYC. (In true LA-tradition, maybe the team should relocate, and go to the Mexican league for "better" opposition). Which would you prefer - the Shield and MLS Cup, or winning the Champions League?
Man, Mexican league is pretty overrated. They have a good group of attacking players, but no team can defend. What they don't have is a salary cap like MLS. That said, Galaxy were extremely mediocre to start the season while awaiting the arrival of Gerrard. It was sort of like playing with one hand tied behind our backs. Galaxy are in the drivers seat for the Shield, but it is still not an assured thing with so many other teams close and having 2-3 games in hand...anyway, it's really the Cup I want. CONCACAF Champs League win seems like a real possibility this year, too. It's been a joke for most MLS teams because of the salary cap, but this team has the ability to win it... Personally, I'd love to see that happen.
