I don't care about Britt, that's my point. I hope he doesn't score goals that will help Forest finish above us but equally I would say the same thing about any player at any club. He wanted to move and we got decent money for him. It seems he is going to do well at this level but we can't turn back time so there is nothing we can do about it. When Forest bought him we had Deeney, Vydra and FF so would not spend that kind of money on a fourth choice striker
we didn't think he was good enough which may have been a mistake but we've made a tidy sum. Every team that finishes above us we can look at and wonder if we should have signed their top scorer. Much like if we finish top then there will be teams who may feel they should have tried to sign are better players
Clive_ofthe_Kremlin Crazy money for a striker who's completely unproven at championship level. The times I saw him playing for them he looked very, very far from all that. I would say Forest have probably paid way over the odds. Replaced with another 'marquee' striker signing in January to appease Forest fans as they bump around the bottom on boxing day. ForzaWatford I reckon he'll score a couple at the start of the season and everyone will jizz over him, but then he won't score again for months. ImRonBurgundy? Stunning bit of business from us over £3m for a striker who was 5th choice going in to last season Fair enough he scored 20+ in league one but so did Joe Garner who was rancid at this level He didn't show anything is his 4 appearances at this level to suggest he was ready and that was with total dross as competition THT81 I cannot believe the Forest fans' reaction to this. He won't be a top level Championship ST next season, but they seem to think he'll fire them to promotion. A raw 21yo for £5.5m just seems a tad strange, like they've made the signing a season early. Jellyman People on the Forest Forum are genuinely discussing odds for him finishing top scorer in the Championship. I think they're well off the mark in terms of expectations. Hornpete Good deal at the time and good deal now, he absolutely won't score 20 goals this year. Nnnn I am very happy with this deal, although obviously if he should score 20+ goals & fire Forest to promotion at our expense, I might not be quite so happy. Can't see it though. inayellowshirt Forest fans already banking themselves on promotion due to signing Britt. CarlosKickaballs Britt is complete ****e and the fact Garner scored over 20 goals in league one means that anyone could. La_tempesta_cielo_68 When he scores 20+ in the championship and outscores both Troy and Matej, then I'll agree with you. I love a good thread bump. It's just dawned on me that this forum is rammed with people who know absolutely nothing about football. I wonder what his goal tally will be after Forest play us?
I still stand by my comments, part 1 correct. Also I only said the first comment under my name, I'm sure.
Can't believe he scored 5 in one game tomorrow. Ffs, wheres Doc Brown and his time machine when you need it?
Bit quiet in here tonight. Britt can score as many goals as he likes, but without him Forest aren't even going to challenge. He is a goalscorer, no doubt about it - but the only one they have hence all his goals.
Of course it's quiet. If he doesn't score, people can't moan that we let him go when he asked to leave.
Can you please point me out the people moaning in this thread that we let him go to early? The serious comments I mean and not the 'joke' ones
This right here shows how little people understand about football. According to some Forest mates they had some key players injured, and it was obvious that Assombalonga had been asked to put in a hard shift to relieve the pressure on the midfield and defence, which he did very effectively. Of course he'd want to get on the scoresheet (and as it happened he missed one great opportunity), but in this particular game, the team came first. I just don't see why people can't admit that he's a decent, honest and hard working player with an eye for goal that we should never have let slip.
No one has disputed that. The one thing people can't handle, on here and on social media is the guy asked to leave and we made a whole heap of money on him. Much better to believe that we are the centre of the football universe and no player who has ever been exposed to the club could ever want to play anywhere else. Well, that and the insistence upon updating us on his every movement on the pitch for the last two years, followed by the dribbling quote 'shudn hav sold him!!!!'
Nah, he decided not to score yesterday to make his teammates feel better about themselves. It's what Vydra is doing at the moment too.
Luckily, other players score for us, unlike Forest. You can score as many goals as you like and still not end up anywhere decent, just ask Ross McCormack.
http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...r-makes-just-one-accurate-pass-in-90-minute/? FML he'd fit into this team perfectly.
Never mind Assombalonga, Massey scored a wonderful brace today. Have we got a sell on with Colchester?
Banged it in again today to make the scoreline respectable... Imagine what he could achieve in a decent side.
