What about Ashley Young he's an academy product? Can't we put him in Pozzo's place as he once watched an Udinese game?
Hornet's Nest - "Anything Watford related apart from transfer talk. Please keep it on topic and sensible in here. Thanks." Your reasoning is wrong but who cares it doesn't matter where it is.
I think they got it right on the Football League Show at the weekend, they mentioned that he came up with goals but often goes missing in games - so far he has started well but I still think there will be a time where he goes through a drought and he'll struggle to get in the team.
Saying Assombalonga = Aguero is the same as saying Deeney = Drogba. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
He's still in the "Fitzgerald Zone" right now: a player stepping up to a new league at a new club running on pure adrenaline. The key is whether or not he can keep it up after the initial rush wears off.
Because if I don't, it won't disappear from the 'new posts' list which is how I generally use the forum.
Then I suggest you just use 'Whats New' as it will show you a snippet of the comment and you won't have to read it or click on it... And if you didn't bother commenting on it, it would have slid down the Whats New page already.
I'll use the forum how I like. I'll also post if I think it's sad that people can't get over their ex's.
I'm indifferent to how he's doing. If we were struggling in the bottom half, without any decent strikers, I'd probably be very pissed off. We're third highest scorers. We have Troy Deeney, Matej Vydra, Fernando Forestieri and a few million in the bank. :drinking:
I'm starting to notice a trend between the Watford fans who seem far happier when we lose so they can moan, and the Watford fans who cry every time Assombalonga scores.
If thats aimed at me I have never once said we shouldn't have sold him, nor argued against selling him. I was just updating the thread for those who are genuinely interested in how he is doing as an ex-watford player, an academy graduate and a rival player.
A perfectly reasonable point..... Had you not updated this thread when he was in League 1. http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread...-to-Peterborough/page9&highlight=Assombalonga Bit stalky IMO
You mean the bit where I joined a debate on a players value and specifically stated that he was yet to play above League 1? That thread was a separate thread. It involved a debate over whether or not we were right to sell him and some forum users like myself argued over his current value. This thread was started as a thread about Britt's season in the Championship as a player of a rival team.
He doesn't play for my club anymore and only ever did very briefly so if I'm honest I couldn't give a flying **** about him. Just a player who plays for one of our promotion rivals
I care if he scores enough goals to keep us out of the top 2 or top 6. The guy is pure class. Anyone think we should have taken up the option to buy him ??
No, not as 4th choice. In the first team. Or do you still think his 8 goals so far are still a flash in the pan on the basis he was crap in his 2? games for us ?? Untried in this league ?
I don't give a **** how many goals he scores, had he joined us at the start of the season, he'd be 4th choice.
.....and, if it makes you feel better, you keep telling yourself that throughout this season as we look up the table to where Forest sit, fired there by a Watford reject.....
