Theatre seats. Sitting in them for 2 and half hours is basically torture for someone over 6 foot. You'd think for £30 a ticket you might actually get some space and a decent view.

People who have a sprog to get a council house, then find out the house they get is one of the social houses allocated in a new private block, then tell everyone and anyone how posh and nice the area is then post this on their facebook on Sunday morning:

Think its time to let my new neighbours know Im here..... Music is going up! Happy Sunday *****ers

I think it's a myth that anyone has a kid to get housing. More likely that many young people are cavalier about the consequences of sex. If you think this is the case you should believe the lad knocking her up also wishes to be a parent as he is taking no steps to avoid it.

They have kids so that they are re-housed due to "overcrowding" at their current address. If the lad was to move in to the original address it adds to the overcrowding and so speeds up the process. Many of those in the system know exactly how to milk it. It's no myth Moose.

I get that, I just don't think it's such a conscious process, especially as in most areas of the South East it's unlikely that the new housing will be available before the birth of the baby.

You can argue that some people are less concerned by the prospect of pregnancy than others in the same way they are not considering chlamydia, HIV or other possible consequences. I just don't think the thought to get pregnant is generally there before the act, but maybe you are right to a certain degree.

I concur. A colleagues sister has done exactly this, jumping the queue. Guess what, there's another on the way now so no doubt there will be a bigger house offered shortly.

I am designing the website for my firm and two ladies in my office have refused to have their photos on the website under "our team".

The photos aren't linked to anything and don't even show their full names!

They aren't giving me a reason why.

    I don't get it!

Why thank you ZZ that's the nicest thing you've said to me.

Look, I wouldn't say it never ever happens. Someone will believe the myth if nothing else. Where there is deliberate behaviour it's more likely to do with the avoidance of low paid work and the growth in status that motherhood provides. And they want to have a baby once the option is conceived of. Their babies and their lives are not the means to a mere material end, a flat. It's much more complex than that.

The housing myth is dismissive and largely false. There are parts of London where teenage mother will not get a flat at all quickly, but teenage pregnancy won't be affected by this. Kid lives with Mum and Grandma.

Moose does raise a strong point.

The average daily mail reader will sneer at somebody who says they are a cleaner more than somebody who says they are a full-time mother.

Guy I used to work with was an ex NARC so couldn't have his photo up for fear of reprisals. That's what he told me anyway.

    Did I say any different!

It derives from a slang word based on the word "Association" as in Association Football, but I still hate it :boo:

Getting up at 05:15. It's highly unreasonable for any service to be required at such a time in the morning unless it's an emergency one. I will make up for this torturous morning after 2 hours of sleep by getting up no earlier than 11:00 for the next two weeks in between starting my new job.

    FML. :doom:
