Maybe Troy assumed that he'd get his (deserved) Premier League chance this season. He might have been surprised by the club's stance on him and instead of having a bid accepted he might tell them he wants to go. Which he probably doesn't want to do as he knows how highly he is thought of here.

Or just perhaps a club on the prowl, perhaps a Leicester or a QPR, are muck raking to unsettle him.

I really don't think it's this, normally Troy will rubbish any of this **** written about him. The way it's written really makes me think it's come directly from Troy's camp, sadly. I really hope i'm wrong.

It'd be weird though. When Vydra signed, saying "We're back & I know you're scared." If - like this article says - an agreement was in place that if a decent bid came in they'd sell, he'd surely think he was off, & wouldn't post that.

The Pozzos have been playing this game for years. They'll know what's bull and what isn't.

It's entirely possible. Just ignore it and concentrate on improving as a footballer.

The Sky article seems to run against every single other thing that has been reported on this saga. It also doesn't quote any sources whatsoever.

    Bizarre stuff.

No one will care when Troy's 33rd league goal confirms our top 2 spot next April.

If we paid £10m for a player who turned out to be as good as Feeney, we'd be up in arms.

£10 million for Warren Feeney would indeed be ridiculous.

Frank Smith has said on twitter re: Sky report that he's confident in his source.

It was obviously directed at the fans of Rubin Kazan and FC Chemnitzer.

End of the day, the club, the fans, the team and his strike partner (who probably came back partly based on playing with him) want him to stay. If he wants to go, let him go. If he's not going, it's time for the club to step the **** up and say that he's staying either through a new contract or through the interpreter of the manager.

Also Sky implies Deeney expects to be sold when an offer of £6.5m came in? Sounds like garbage again. Why would he value himself as less than Ulloa?

The whole sky article sounds like sour grapes....

I'm guessing that the source of the article is either harry redknapp or some other tool....

Sky have previously asserted that we were holding out for 8 million. Then that we were holding out for 10 million.

Whoever their source is, he's either not very good or doesn't exist.

I'm taking it as read that you haven't been the subject of endless speculation in the media the outcome of which might mean a windfall for you in excess of two million pounds?

Deeney has also said that whether or not an offer is accepted is in the club's hands and not his. It's not unreasonable for a club to deem a player 'not for sale'. An offer from Hull was turned down in January and he didn't seem to mind then.

I'd imagine he's feeling pretty good and pretty wealthy after the contract extension he's just signed.

Agreed. Even if he is happy to say it must be unsettling till the issue is resolved one way or another.

I didn't say I did. I'm saying it's unlikely it won't have an effect. Just imagine if he wanted to redo his kitchen? I mean would you bother if you're going to move this window or next.

Mrs Moose wouldn't be putting up with that kind of doubt.

I'm no expert but moving windows is not very easy when it comes to redecorating your kitchen. Far simpler to change the colour of the blinds!

Unless he's off to Udinese, it's almost certain that he'll stay living in Birmingham.

I thought the club had a rule about the distance away from London Colney the players could live? Probably just a GT rule.

Not that he couldn't buy several gaffs.

I realise this an almost impossible question but I'd be interested in guesses as to what kind of signing bonus Troy might be looking at if he moved for $10m

I think the going rate is 10% of the transfer fee paid. So about £1m pre tax.

Sky story doesn't name a source or even name it's author. They print rubbish all the time if they can't be sued for it and though they're supposed to check their sources I'm sure this would get lumped in with all other footie speculation, any court would just laugh it off ....

Not that I actually believe there's a £10-12m bid is on the table either.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Long-Hull-make-fresh-10m-Watford-striker.html

Hull City are making a move for £10million-rated Watford striker Troy Deeney after losing Shane Long to Southampton.

Manager Steve Bruce wants pace and power in his attack and sees Deeney as the ideal target having enquired about him at Christmas.

Leicester have had a £7.5m bid rejected for Deeney while Burnley and QPR have also failed with offers for the 26-year-old.

Long had only joined Hull last January from West Bromwich Albion in a £7million deal with Nikica Jelavic joining also from Everton and the Tigers had been reluctant to sell.

They have, however, turned their attention elsewhere.

Hull and Crystal Palace have expressed interest in free agent Nicklas Bendtner but face competition from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

The 26-year-old Dane has an offer from Olympiacos also but the prospect of playing in the Premier League again or the Bundesliga is more appealing.
