    Why has the homepage tab been cut off and the like/dislike function disappeared?

    Why is that upgrades never seem to improve things?

    Please see here for more info.

    Likes/Dislikes and a few other features have been temporarily disabled because the forum software needed to be upgraded because of security issues, the (badly written) plugins that were used for some of these features don't fully work with the latest version of the software, so were causing more issues and it to break.

    How come? And is there any way to get rid of the "Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 1 Likes, 0 Dislikes" bit? Particularly as we don't have thanks or dislikes.

    Interestingly, nobody liked that.

    Likes without Dislikes are pretty meaningless; maybe it's designed to make us a forum of Happy Clappers. The removal of the smilies with negative connotations will be next. TVOR keep using :boo: while you still can.

    No, it's designed to stop people following others around and disliking them, or to stop people hiding behind a button when they could reply and actually post their opinions - which I know you have no issue in doing, so it shouldn't be a problem for you.

    Well, you could say that.

    Disliking though usually means you'll have a contrasting opinion to post, which is better.

    We're giving it a trial, so we'll see how it goes - I don't think it's a necessity and as I say, don't like people abusing it or hiding behind it, and I least of all want the forum to turn into a group of 'Happy Clappers'.

    Potentially, need to have a think as in it's current state it was somewhat redundant as it wasn't getting new content, apart from match previews which was only detracting away from the actual forum.

    Bringing this back on topic, I found it very annoying not having a 'like' button but haven't found myself reaching for the 'dislike' button at all - really don't miss it. I agree with SM16 - if I feel that strongly about a post I'll respond to it & I do think 'dislike' was pressed too freely sometimes based on posters' views of one another rather than the post itself.

    And, the good news is, I can't now be the subject of multiple 'dislikes' for this post!

    A new points system, which I've just installed so shall be configuring to lose bits we don't need etc, I shall post up some more info afterwards.

    It shall (fingers crossed) tie in with vBookie completely so that I can re-open it.
