    Think we will win 3-1.

Might not be as easy some think though - Aussies have some good bowlers if they can stay fit but our overall class should tell.

Love a good Ashes Summer. We're off and underway having won the toss. 6-0 off 3 overs.

Hopefully KP's antics last summer will not be repeated, and we'll be able to see the best of him again.

There aren't many draws in test cricket nowerdays. i can see us winning this 3 or 4 -1

I can see the aussies taking 20 wickets in a match but just can't see them scoring enough runs, 7 or 800 they need between two innings

Anyone else think that this was always going to happen given the recent press of 'we're gonna smash the Aussies!'

Yep! Poor batting display, just got to hope that Anderson gets a bit of swing now and that the 'Watford Wall' is given a chance early on to test the openers with his height. Swinging conditions for the last part of the day now with the lights on and spin from day 3.

And now Jimmy is getting in on the fun. Cook certainly made the lucky call to bat first. The Aussie batting attack is poor and our bowlers will make mincemeat of them on this pitch

Some of the shots were pretty shocking to get out with TBH but bowlers certainly on top.

Most certainly not the finest display of batting, nor bowling really - particularly from the Aussies. A low total yes, but the damage was really done with the first decent spell from Siddle.

Hopefully we'll get them out for a couple less, and then be able to get it together and post a competitive total in the second innings. In the unlikely event that we'd be in a position to enforce the follow on, I wouldn't be doing that on this wicket.

Spoke far too soon. Ridiculous batting for a no. 11

In front now. At least it looks as though batting has become easier. Can't see this Agar batting at number 11 again

I wasn't really listening fully but last night did hear somebody say he has a couple of 50s already in domestic cricket.

I've not seen any action (just got in from work)

Are his shots a bit of hit and hope or actually really top quality ones as you would expect from a world class batsman?

I don't think I'd have begrudged him the two extra runs. Very good batting for a number 11 and has dragged them right into it and put the Aussies in a very good position.

What a shambles. Fair play to Australia, they've bowled well, good lines. Can't see Root opening in the next test, think Bell will come up the order, or Trott.

Need KP and Cook to play to their best, if they do we could go from 11-2 to 250-2. No excuses on this wicket, take your time!

I don't know too much about cricket, but how come an 11th man gets 98 on his debut, but England's openers can only get 11 for 2? They are all saying it's a brilliant day for batting. Why didn't they tell this to the English opening batsmen?
