Tomasz Kuszczak has signed on emergency loan from Man United until the end of the season. He's been at the training ground this morning.

Watford have completed the loan signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak until the end of the season. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed recently that Kuszczak will leave Manchester United in the summer as he does not want to sign a new contract. The Poland international has not played for United this season and is now considered to be fourth choice behind David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos. Kuszczak, who has had public bust-ups with Ferguson in the past, started his career at Hertha Berlin but did not make a single appearance before moving to West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer in 2004. The Baggies turned down three bids from United before allowing Kuszczak to move to Old Trafford in 2007, initially on loan. He has made 61 appearances for the Red Devils. If Kuszczak does join the Hornets, he will be the fourth goalkeeper to play for the club this season. Former England Under-21 international Scott Loach has been the club's number one for more than three years but a dip in form resulted in the former Lincoln City keeper being dropped in September. Manager Sean Dyche said Loach needed time out of the side but reinstated him two games later as Rene Gilmartin, who is now on loan at Crawley Town, was not considered to be sharp enough. Jonathan Bond is seen as a goalkeeper of real potential and was played twice at the beginning of 2012 after Loach was sent off but he is just 18 and a first-year professional.

Is this the end for Loach or just competition?

Good back up signing for Loach...... Seriously, this one is a bit of a coup for the club. In Championship terms, he is a fantastic goalkeeper. Reading between the lines, it looks as though we might be able to sign him, but I would seriously wonder if he would fit into our wage structure. United clearly want to offload him, and it's more putting him in the shop window, but you never know. I know Foster loved it at Watford and he put in a good word for us. This one surprised me, as I've got strong Polish contacts and they never told me a damn thing....grrrrl. I'm a big fan of Loach, but this can only be a good thing for the club and really strengthen the defence. Hopefully Loach, Gilmartin and Bond can all learn from working with a keeper of his quality.

Fantastic news. Finally we have someone good enough who can partner Deeney upfront. With Massey on the bench, I am much more confident about Southampton now.

A few words on Scott Loach re this signing. He will be disappointed but maybe it's time for him to step out of the limelight for a while. He's a good keeper but having been our number one for three seasons now and starting at a relatively young age - a few weeks out of the first team just might do his long term career a lot of good.

Great signing, might make Loach step up his game.

Short-term, it's a phenomenal signing. He's a top keeper at Premiership level, let alone Championship. Absolutely out of the blue as well. Shame it didn't come earlier on in the season though, as we're essentially safe now.

I wonder how this effects Loach though? Is this a sign that his time is up come the summer? Or is it a chance for him to work on his game out of the spotlight for a few months and come back fresh next season?

I think sends a big message of no confidence in Loach.

We are "semi" safe baring some horrendous results, so a signing of this quality says something.

    I am well pleased though.

What constitutes an emergency loan? Gilmartin off for a month means we have no back up, then we can get someone in?

This is surprise...we have signed someone we have all heard of (even if we will struggle to spell his name!) He is better than what we have, will help Loach and Bond become better keepers. Loach needs a break, it was getting to the point where every goal we let in, he was being blamed. He is a good keeper and will come good.

One point, shows Dyche also has the contacts to pull off decent loan signings. Well done

    Poom v2.0?

How many goads will he save that Loach will have let in?

Not so sure about this, seems like the wrong time and unless there's a chance of a permanent signing at the end of the season, I'm not sure it's going to do anything other than trash the confidence of Loach who at one point was a potential England 1st team keeper.

Loach should be grateful he has had an absolutely unheard of amount of backing over the last three years.

In his first season he was just awful but played every single game, then played every single game the next season and this season too.

I don't think I have seen more backing for a goalkeeper. It is about bloody time we got in a proper, experienced keeper who will force Loach to actually progress as a keeper. He hasn't improved the whole time he has been in goal. He needs to step it up a gear and I'm glad the powers that be have finally stopped backing him regardless of errors. Nobody should have a guaranteed place and Loach has had one regardless of performances for three years.

Hopefully he will learn a thing or two from Kuszczak and be able to use his time out of the spotlight to concentrate on his game. People boo him regardless of whether he makes mistakes or not, he needs to be taken out of the firing line.

Loach gets a hard time from our thick fans and I think he is a top bloke and a good keeper a time, but he needs a kick in development so he takes charge of his bloody penalty box. I would hope Loach realises that nobody has a divine right to a place in the team and will come back stronger and more confident having had a break from all the booing and mistakes.

Don't wanna put a dampner on it but the wobby report states in paragraph one that watford have signed the Man Utd goalie, then at the begining of paragraph six staes 'if he signs' ???

My only worry about this deal. Had it come last summer, then great. But now we're basically safe, it seems like it'll just ruin Loach's fragile confidence. I can only assume that Dyche has decided Loach will be moved on this summer and therefore isn't worried about it.

He's here basically to get fit for the Euro Champs this summer. There's no way we'll be signing him in the summer.

There's no doubt in my mind that we are preparing to sell Loach in the summer. Probably already a done deal! As Kuszczak is out of contract in the summer, we will most likely attempt to sign him permanently (if we haven't agreed a deal already).

I for one is very happy about this. Time for Scott Loach to go to a prem club and sit on the bench, and we get a seasoned pro who - before he moved to ManUre was one of the best keepers in the championship.

Pretty incredible signing really. Perfect age, lots of Premier League, international and Championship experience, and let's be honest, is a far, far better keeper than Loach.

With him out of contract in the summer it'd be fantastic if there's a chance of this becoming permanent.
