No. It'll have to be self-sustaining is my guess. Better a controlled descent into being a top League 1 side though (if that's what it takes) than a plummet to god knows where out of control and broke.

I haven't read the news about Ashcroft buying out the Russos loan firsthand, but I'm suspecting he's just taking over the loan so that Watford Leisure PLC ows £4.88m to Fordwat instead of VGS now? So that won't change anything, but the share issue would clear the debts and inject £2.5m extra to start covering the shortfall. In that case, we're about £3m short until June 2010 after which things are looking better due to the wage bill being slashed, installments from transfers, some expensive player contract ending, etc.

Yes, January will be sell-sell, but at least not by an administrator. That means we can get a fair price for Loach and other sellable players. Selling players for a fair price is 100x better than the gloomy outcomes that have been hanging over us these last few days!

Indeed - I wonder what the river will bring?

Just one final question for all the thickos criticising the Russos, and kissing their latest hero's a r s e - how many of you 'disgusted of Chorleywood' types invested in the last scrip share issue in the club 'you love so much'?

At least our league position will now be determined by how the team and Malky perfom on the pitch rather than because of some petty bitter dispute.

Ofcourse we may well still lose certain players in the January window but at least that will be down to us (maybe we'll cash in on Loach and DeMerit who leaves for free in the summer)

I am thinking along exactly the same lines.

This is the beginning, rather than the end of our worries.

Plus, I've broken my 4 month drinking duck, so it's taking me 50 times as long as it should to type this.
